Caroline & Eddie’s Newport Wedding – Classic Coastal Romance with Timeless Blue & White Elegance

There’s something undeniably iconic about a Newport wedding in the summer – the salt air, the sailboats drifting in the distance, and a sense of effortless elegance that never feels overdone. For Caroline and Eddie, their wedding day embraced all of it, blending classic coastal charm with refined, timeless details.

Set against the waterfront at The Bohlin, their celebration unfolded in a palette of soft blues and crisp whites, with chinoiserie accents and lush florals echoing the beauty of the seaside. From sailboat portraits that captured the spirit of Newport to a tented reception glowing beneath chandeliers, every moment felt light-filled, romantic, and thoughtfully curated.

It was a wedding that didn’t try too hard – because it didn’t need to. Instead, it leaned into what makes a coastal celebration so special: natural beauty, intentional design, and the joy of gathering by the water.

“This is your day—choose what you love, celebrate your way, and don’t let outside opinions shape your story.”

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

Because our wedding ceremony and reception were outside, we had to make preparations in the event it rained on our wedding day. From acquiring tent permits from the city to researching indoor photo locations and creating a backup plan for our first look on a boat, it was easily one of the most stressful parts of the planning process.

With a forecast of only 10% rain, we still felt the pressure—but in the end, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Clear skies and 75-degree sunshine made the day feel even more magical.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

We are constantly growing as individuals and as a couple. We’ve learned that being partners means accepting each other as we are, choosing to love each other every day—especially in the hard moments—and understanding that communication is everything.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

Curating a day and space that represented us as individuals and as a couple. It was so special to create a vision and then watch our incredible team of vendors bring it to life with their creativity and talent.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Don’t listen to outside opinions. This day is about you two, so do what you want. It’s one of the only days where you can be completely selfish—and that’s okay.

Choose the flowers you love, the food you want, the music that makes you dance, and the people you truly want to celebrate with.
