Grayson & Sean’s Cabo Wedding – A Vibrant Celebration of Culture, Color, and Meaningful Tradition

Some weddings feel like a destination, while others feel like an experience layered with meaning, culture, and intention. Grayson and Sean’s celebration in Cabo was the perfect blend of both – a day that honored their faith, embraced local charm, and unfolded in a setting that felt both elevated and alive with color.

The day began with a traditional Catholic ceremony, a deeply meaningful choice for the couple and the foundation of everything that followed. From there, guests were welcomed into a reception at Suelo Sur that felt nothing short of immersive – an open-air structure adorned with crystal chandeliers and cascading bougainvillea, creating a striking contrast of rustic architecture and refined design.

Bright florals and warm golden accents softened minimalist black and white tablescapes, while custom embroidered napkins and playful pink menus added personality and charm. Thoughtful details – like miniature white donkeys carrying bugambilia blooms to guide guests to their seats – brought a sense of place and storytelling that made the entire celebration feel uniquely rooted and unforgettable.

“Don’t lose sight of what matters most – the true purpose of the celebration is the life you’re beginning together.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

Sean and I both went to Texas Christian University—Sean was a year ahead of me, and our paths never crossed until I got a job in Fort Worth where he lived. We had mutual friends during the Covid lockdown, and one day, a group of us got together to play pickleball. This is where we first really connected.

My first impression of him was that he was incredibly nice, outgoing, and easy to be around—a personality that instantly drew me in. Within a few weeks we were officially dating, and two years later Sean proposed.

What part of your wedding day was most important to you?

The most important part of our wedding day was getting married in the Catholic Church in Cabo. Being Catholic is very meaningful to both of us, and it was very important to us that we have a church ceremony. It felt so special that we were able to make that happen, even at a destination wedding.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

My favorite part of planning our wedding was traveling to Cabo with my mom and getting to make all the fun decisions—from visiting the venues and tasting the food to choosing our color palette and refining every detail alongside our amazing wedding planners.

It was such a special experience, and I truly treasured the time spent with my mom and collaborating with Amy and Carena, who made the entire process feel seamless and special.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

Try not to sweat the small stuff too much. Enjoy the process, stay present in the moment, and don’t lose sight of what matters most—the true purpose of the celebration: you and your husband.
