Crossed Keys Estate Vibrant Summer Wedding

Crossed Keys Estate Vibrant Summer Wedding

Today we hope you feel nothing but warm weather vibes with this Crossed Keys Estate vibrant summer wedding feature! A colorful palette paired with such a fun floral design kept the wedding upbeat & flirty just the way a summer afternoon should feel!

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions? “I wore my deceased grandmother’s cameo ring and glued a penny to my shoe in memory of my other grandma (because she used to sing Pennies From Heaven).”

What did you do for favors? “Personalized shot glasses that doubled as table settings – “Take a Shot and Take Your Seat”.”

“Lillian and Andrew’s wedding day was romantic, vibrant, and upbeat. This couple simply radiates with joy. It is impossible not to feel the love that shines from their smiles and contagious laughter! Following their intimate first look, they soaked in every moment together on their beautiful summer wedding day this August set at the picturesque, Crossed Keys Estate in Andover, New Jersey. Lillian and Andrew were most excited to have a big, fun party with their family and friends to celebrate their love at the quaint, countryside estate. And this couple did just that and so much more! This couple soaked in their joyful, upbeat, sun-kissed summer day celebrated by their family and best friends by their side at the Crossed Keys! This gorgeous wedding day is one for the record books. The team at Crossed Keys Design carried vibrant colors throughout their day that accented Lillian and Andrew’s bright, fun-loving, and upbeat personalities! Their color palette included burgundy dahlias, yellow flirty bridesmaids dresses by Lulus, orange accents, and roses in shades of pink. The brides dress, designed by Justin Alexander, consisted of a sheer beaded pearl and rhinestone bodice. Lillian glistened in the light. The chiffon a-line skirt designed in ivory accented the upbeat, romantic, and light aesthetic. As guests exited the ceremony and entered the reception, their custom favors were awaiting to be enjoyed. Guests name transcribed beautifully handwritten in ink. A slice of lime leaning over side awaiting to be squeezed. Single shot glasses full of some spicy tequila and ready for pick up to get that party started! In addition to their impeccable floral design and fun favors, the wedding couple incorporated a romantic and vibrant design to their reception. Their reception included couture velvet runners, and at the sweetheart table, pearl shears designed by the brides incredibly talented mom, Inspired Living by Andrea Martha. Each reception table was adorned in romantic candle light, vibrant aromatic centerpieces, and so much more. The evening was led by the talented MC Griffon of Pure Event Group who knocked it out of the park.” Michelle Behre Photography

How did you meet? “We started dating in high school and have been together ever since!”

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding. “We chose Crossed Keys Estate for the insanely beautiful scenery in every direction. We always knew we wanted to get married in the summer (because summer has the best party vibes) and I knew I wanted to incorporate all the colors. The vision for this wedding was vibrant and full of life.”

Tell us about your attire choices. “Our whole wedding color scheme actually revolves around Andrew’s burgundy suit – because the first thing he said in regards to our wedding was that “I am wearing a burgundy suit”. So we took that idea and ran with it (despite everyone saying “oh wow isn’t that a wintery color?”) I chose my dress based on a vision of comfort and simplicity. I have a slight obsession with the color yellow, and was lucky enough to find the most gorgeous golden yellow dresses for my bridesmaids with a bit of a boho vibe – exactly what I was looking for. To make sure the groom stood out, we put the groomsmen in the same burgundy pant but they wore suspenders, which is just always a fun look.”

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip? “The most important thing to us was that our wedding would be a FUN party and that we would have awesome photos to capture it. We made choices on vendors based on the connections we made with people who had the vibe we knew we needed and it led us right to all these awesome people (Michelle Behre for photos and Griff from Pure Event Group on the mic).”

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details. “My talented sister hand wrote all the signage. She wrote out all the names for place cards by hand and I did the numbers. I had little clipboards of coloring pages for the dozen kids that attended – because I think every good wedding needs a dozen kids running around adding extra life and magic. My mom handmade all the yellow runners that went on the tables.”

Tell us about your wedding flowers. “My wedding flowers were the vision I never even knew that I had. I was lucky enough to have an incredible vendor (Crossed Keys Designs) who I could trust with one of the most important visual aspects of the day. I told them color and life and they delivered.”

What were your favorite parts of the day? “The entire day was a dream. Aside from the entire day of pure fun and goodness that I had, my favorite part was waking up on the Crossed Keys Property and drinking my coffee as I walked across the grounds to get ready in the beautiful room overlooking the ceremony space. I felt like I really got to soak in all that was happening/ about to happen. Another favorite memory was when my dad delivered an epic Father of the Bride speech. He had made a lot of jokes about what he would say so when he came out with this well thought out (and hilarious) speech I was so pleasantly surprised.”

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now? “Enjoy it, don’t stress the little stuff (because it’s all little stuff). Don’t think too hard about the decisions, let your gut guide the way. If you just surrender, it will not even matter if things don’t go exactly as planned, the day will be magical if you let it be.”
