On May 31, 2025, Morgan Klausner and Zak DePasquale gathered 175 of their closest friends and family in Atlanta for a wedding weekend that felt like stepping into Italy — without ever leaving Georgia. Hosted at the European-inspired Summerour Studio, the celebration blended hydrangea-filled florals, soft blue hues, and thoughtful design details into a light, whimsical atmosphere that carried seamlessly from the first welcome event to the farewell brunch.
Morgan’s vision was clear from the start: “Italian wedding, but we’re in Atlanta.” From lemons and greenery at the rehearsal festivities to cohesive stationery that echoed the invitation suite all weekend long, every event felt intentionally connected. Guests moved from a rehearsal celebration at 42 West to a lively after-party at Bellyard Hotel and brunch the next morning — each gathering feeling like a continuation of the same story.
“We wanted our wedding to feel like the entire weekend — not separate events, but one beautiful, intentional celebration from start to finish.”
How They Met
Morgan and Zak’s story began at the University of Virginia, though their paths didn’t officially cross until they both returned for their MBA programs in 2020. A mutual connection and a happy hour at Common House — complete with Spicy Margaritas — turned into exchanged numbers and the start of something lasting. “From there, the rest is history,” Morgan shares.

A Charlottesville Proposal
The proposal brought them back to where it all began. During a trip to Charlottesville for a friend’s wedding, Zak convinced Morgan to stay an extra day to celebrate their anniversary. After revisiting favorite spots and walking through campus memories, he proposed at sunset overlooking the hills near Keswick Hall. What Morgan thought might be a breakup weekend turned into an engagement, an impromptu sunset photo session, and a surprise family dinner filled with happy tears.
The Wedding Fashion
Morgan’s gown journey was a marathon that ended with the very first dress she tried on: the Greer by Louvienne. With thoughtful alterations and inspiration images guiding the way, the final look was effortlessly romantic and timeless.
Throughout the weekend, Morgan embraced distinct looks for every event — from a chic rehearsal dinner ensemble to a playful after-party dress by Jenny Yoo paired with sneakers. Bridesmaids wore mismatched light blue gowns, creating a soft, dimensional palette that perfectly complemented the hydrangea-heavy florals.
Zak wore a classic tuxedo from Sid Mashburn, chosen together in an experience Morgan describes as just as special as dress shopping. The groomsmen opted for coordinated tuxes from The Black Tux.

Ceremony & Music
Their ceremony was intentionally a surprise. A close family friend officiated, crafting a completely custom script unknown even to the couple until the moment it was spoken. Morgan and Zak also exchanged handwritten vows, adding a deeply personal layer to an already intimate experience.
Zak walked down the aisle to a piano rendition of “What a Wonderful World,” while Morgan entered to an acoustic version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The tone was quiet, calm, and timeless — a perfect prelude to the celebration that followed.

Reception Highlights
Food was one of the most important elements of the day. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner featuring short rib, salmon, or vegetable Napoleon, along with curated appetizers and a charcuterie display by Bold Catering and Design.
Though they initially debated skipping cake, a small two-tier carrot cake by Cakes by Anna ended up being one of their favorite shared moments.
Signature cocktails kept things classic and personal: Zak’s Moscow Mule and Morgan’s Spicy Margarita. As the night progressed, their DJ transformed the romantic courtyard atmosphere into a full dance-floor celebration.

Words of Advice
Morgan encourages couples to build a strong vendor team and lean into the planning process. “Things will go wrong — don’t sweat the small stuff.” Early-arriving guests briefly disrupted photo plans, but in hindsight, it was a tiny detail in a day overflowing with meaning.
For both of them, the most anticipated moment was seeing every corner of their lives gathered together — high school friends, business school classmates, family — all in one place. “It was surreal,” Zak shares.

What Marriage Means
For Morgan, marriage brings gravity and intention — choosing one another daily, in front of the community that shaped them.
For Zak, it’s a promise not just to love Morgan, but to lift her up in every area of her life — from career ambitions to building a future family together.
Their wedding weekend wasn’t just a single event. It was a full, intentional celebration of the life they’ve built — and the one they’re about to begin.
