There’s a unique tenderness that comes with knowing a season of life is coming to a close. For Alexa, this maternity session wasn’t simply about documenting pregnancy—it was about intentionally honoring the final time she would carry life before welcoming her fourth baby.
Photographed by Kamee Valdez, the session embraced a soft, painterly aesthetic filled with delicate florals, airy blue tones, and deeply feminine details that felt both ethereal and deeply personal. Every image carried a quiet stillness to it—the kind of beauty that feels less posed and more emotionally lived-in.
Hand-crafted floral elements wrapped gently around Alexa’s arms and hair, while flowing gowns and soft textures created an atmosphere that felt organic, romantic, and timeless. The result was a maternity session that celebrated not just motherhood itself, but the emotion of closing one chapter while preparing to begin another.
“Be the soft landing place for the people you love most. That is family. That is home.”

A Session Rooted in Intention
“This session was less about perfection and more about honoring a closing chapter,” Kamee shared. “Documenting the grace, emotion, and quiet power of a mother preparing to welcome her last baby.”
Two distinct editorial-inspired settings brought the vision to life. The first featured a hand-painted blue canvas backdrop that created a refined, almost painterly feel reminiscent of fine art portraiture. The second—a flower-filled milk bath—introduced softness and intimacy while highlighting the quiet strength of pregnancy in its most feminine form.
The delicate floral installations and hand-crafted headpiece symbolized something beautifully fleeting: motherhood itself. Soft yet resilient, temporary yet timeless.

What’s your favorite family pastime together?
We just had our fourth baby, so right now we love getting outside together whenever the weather is warm.
The older kids run around the playground getting all their energy out, stopping by our picnic blanket every few minutes to snuggle the baby before racing off again. Their dad is always right there with them—on the monkey bars, down the slides, doing absolutely everything. He’s the ultimate park dad.
Meanwhile, I get to sit in the fresh air holding our new baby and soaking it all in. Those are the moments where I feel overwhelmingly grateful.

Any lessons you learned as a family through the last year?
One of the biggest lessons we learned during this pregnancy was that “many hands make light work.”
Balancing another pregnancy while raising three other children required us all to step up in different ways. We became much better at sharing responsibilities around the house and helping one another with everyday tasks.
The kids especially have surprised us with how eager they are to help. Watching them grow into such caring siblings has been incredibly special.

What have you recently done to put family as a major focus in your life?
This year we’ve been especially intentional about protecting family time.
As the weather warmed up, we started dedicating Fridays to simply being together. Sometimes that means a walk to the park, a trip to the mall, or dinner followed by karaoke—but no matter what we do, we always end up laughing together.
Those simple moments feel the most important to me because I know they’re the memories our children will carry forever.

If you had one piece of advice for other families, what would it be?
Create a dynamic where your family becomes your sanctuary.
Be the soft landing place for each other after long days out in the world. Be the calm in the storm for the people you love most.
That is family. That is home.
