Love has a funny way of changing the way we see the world; it alters the landscape of our being and opens our eyes to a wider possibility of life. It’s outward-facing. It forces us to look beyond the self and see another’s happiness and joy as a far better pursuit than our own, and somehow the sacrifice is sweeter than the alternative self-regard.
