Some weddings transport you—and then there are those that completely reimagine what a wedding can feel like. For Isabella and Mitch, their celebration transformed a transparent marquee at Rosemont Stud Homestead into something entirely unexpected: an intimate, restaurant-inspired space reminiscent of a refined New York lounge.
Centered around a grand piano and enveloped in rich chocolate velvet drapery, the design balanced crisp white paneling, pale timber floors, and suspended greenery—creating a layered interplay of classic elegance and contemporary edge. It wasn’t just a reception; it was an immersive dining experience, where every detail was curated with intention, from leather-bound menus to the endless pours of champagne that carried the night forward.
“Love isn’t just a feeling—it’s the daily choice to show up, support, and grow together.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met at Bella’s best friend’s house in 2013—Mitch was essentially a “plus-plus,” tagging along with a friend of a friend. It was the end of year 12, a summer celebration, and I almost didn’t go. Thankfully, my mum convinced me otherwise.
I remember walking out onto the deck, locking eyes with Mitch, and everything just clicked. He asked me to dance, we shared our first kiss, and spent the rest of the night talking. It felt effortless and a little magical from the very beginning.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
For our very first date, Mitch planned a surprise—rock climbing.
I had never done anything like it and showed up in my nicest jeans and top, completely unaware I’d be spending the day in a harness. We laughed the entire time, and it ended up being one of the most fun, memorable days.
Another moment that always makes us laugh—when Mitch asked me to be his girlfriend, he did it in Italian to honor my heritage… except I didn’t understand it at all and burst out laughing. Thankfully, I still said yes.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
Just before the ceremony, the weather shifted unexpectedly. It meant delays and a complete reworking of the timeline, including moving cocktail hour ahead of the ceremony.
While it was challenging in the moment, our planner and vendor team made us feel incredibly supported. What could have been stressful turned into something unexpectedly special—we ended up sharing cocktails, canapés, and music with our bridesmaids before the ceremony, creating memories we’ll always cherish.
In the end, guests loved the relaxed atmosphere, and it became part of what made the day feel so unique.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
Family was woven into everything.
Bella’s Nonna was a seamstress who made her mother’s wedding dress, so fabric from that gown was carefully sewn into the lining of her couture dress—an invisible but deeply meaningful connection across generations.
Walking down the aisle with both parents to Canon in D was another moment Bella had dreamed of since childhood, and sharing the getting-ready experience with both mothers made the day feel even more special.
What part of your wedding day was most important to you?
Getting married.
After 12 years together—building a home, starting a business, and creating a life—we felt completely ready for this next chapter. The ceremony itself was the moment everything came full circle.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
We’ve learned how to meet each other in the middle—with patience, communication, and intention.
Love isn’t just about the big moments—it’s the consistency, the daily choice to show up, support each other, and keep growing together. We’ve built something strong because we’ve always approached life as a team.
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Bella makes Mitch feel completely at home—her warmth, care, and ability to love deeply is something he admires every day.
Mitch brings a sense of safety and unwavering support to Bella’s life. He’s her biggest cheerleader, always encouraging her to believe in herself and her dreams.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
Creating the vision together.
From building mood boards to attending tastings, dance classes, and vendor meetings, the entire process became something we shared—not just something we planned.
Walking into the marquee the night before, and then again after the wedding when it was all over, felt like a full-circle moment we’ll never forget.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Have fun—with the day and the process.
Things won’t be perfect, and that’s okay. Let go of expectations, trust your team, and stay focused on what truly matters: marrying your person.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Love is a choice you make every single day.
It’s not always effortless—but that’s what makes it meaningful. It’s showing up, supporting each other, and choosing one another through every season of life.
