We have a special first gracing your screens today! Not only do we have one very lovely anniversary session with one very sweet couple—but one member of that beautiful pair is our White Wren Collaborative‘s own Kenzie of Kenzie Packrall Photography! She and her other half, Preston, took a blissful stroll along Florida’s waterside with talented friend and fellow photographer, Ashley Holstein, in celebration of their first year as husband and wife!
From the photographer, Ashley Holstein:
“These images reflect the love that keeps on growing after ‘I do’s’ are exchanged. The happily ever after is every moment you spend with the one you love. The way Kenzie and Preston look at each other is so full of warmth and affection—their love transcends words.”
From Preston & Kenzie, husband & wife:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Kenzie: “We met over the television! I played college softball and we were playing a game that was on ESPN. Preston knew one of my teammates so he was watching the game. He saw me pitching and decided he liked what he saw haha! So he reached out to my teammate to see if I was single. We had our first date three months later.”
Tell us a funny story relating to your relationship!
Kenzie: “I turned Preston down at first! I always hate to admit it because it sounds so bad, but I was not attracted to him in the picture my teammate showed me…A couple months later we reconnected and went on our first date. I realized I definitely was attracted to him and that he had the funniest personality!”
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship.
Kenzie: “We were in a long distance relationship all the way until we were married. We went to colleges in different parts of Florida and when Preston graduated, his job was in a different city than UCF as well. It was definitely hard at times since we could go a month or more without seeing each other. But, it was totally worth the hardships!”
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Kenzie: “My favorite thing about Preston is his selflessness. He is always the first person to give his time to someone who needs help no matter what. It is one of the many reasons I fell in love with him!”
Preston: “I love how passionate Kenzie gets about things. When she strives for something she puts her whole heart into it and doesn’t give up. It’s always inspiring to see and pushes me to do the same.”
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
“Acceptance and grace. Being married is definitely the hardest, but best journey we have both been on. We have learned in the past year that true love is accepting each other (faults and all) and having grace with each other since we are definitely different personalities!”
What is the most important thing in your marriage?
“Time! We really believe in investing time in our relationship and intentionally dating.”
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
“This would have to go back to investing time into each other. It is so important for married couples to remember to date! If you don’t spend that time together, it is so easy to lose sight of each other in the busy lives we all lead in today’s world.”
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
“That love is a choice. You fall in love with someone but it is the choices you make as a couple, and as individuals, that makes it everlasting.”
