Caroline & Jabez Floral Engagement Session

Caroline & Jabez Floral Engagement Session

We love a simple engagement session filled with love and beautiful flowers! This backyard session brought on all the feels with Caroline and Jabez and was captured beautifully by LisaMarie Jesus.

from the photographer: “Caroline & Young have spent 10 years together before planning their perfect wedding day. Caroline is very outgoing and filled with energy while Young love’s to spend quality time at home with Caroline or killing it on the basketball court with his friends. They moved to the United States from South Korea and currently spend their day’s living out the New York lifestyle.I like to think that they are Yin and Yang to one another. Opposite but have the best balance! When I shot their engagement session I KNEW from the start that our journey together would be magical, even if it was only for a month. Fun fact: Caroline and Young are both extras in black panther! How fun is that?! Caroline was the 7th runner up in Miss Korea in 2017 and she’s currently working to becoming an activist for women’s rights and equality! She’s a true Dimon!”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We first met at the church Jabez was going to and outside of church, we hung out at Dave & Buster, watched movies, and also went to DJ Snake concert. Caroline’s first impression of Jabez was “omg he is so tall!” and quiet, mysterious guy who seemed very calm at all times. Jabez thought she was very cute and charming the way she carried herself. I was mesmerized by her beauty and couldn’t stop thinking about her. We both got really close after we drove from NY to ATL and that’s where the spark began!

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
Funny story before the wedding day was we had a huge flood coming dow from our ceiling destroying all our furnitures, clothes, electronics, and etc although we were able to get home insurance! But it happened like 2 weeks ago before the wedding when we were so stressed out planning for one. It is very funny to us looking back at what we were able to overcome even though we went through a lot.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
The flood knocked us down during the wedding planning but through that experience, we got to know each other better. It was really tough since we were supposed to host Caroline’s parents who flew from Seoul, Korea. Our apartment’s bathroom was under construction so we had to vacate to hotel. But luckily we were covered by our insurance and stayed at an hotel, and airbnb with the parents which was fun. We were able to overcome this setback and stayed positive that continued to spread through us and to others.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
Family was able to help us setup for our outdoor do-it-your-own wedding. Without their help and support, the wedding wasn’t going to happen. Our wedding turned out to be the best we could’ve asked for.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
The most important part of the wedding was standing next to my love in front of everyone on the top of the hill and exchanging our rings as we made a vow.
