Winter is crisp, clean, and bracing. It invokes the natural human response to draw closer together for warmth, to lean on each other a little bit more. The cold air is the antithesis of the warm hearts that it surrounds. In the bleakness, each little bit of color stands out on it’s own just a little bit more, bringing warmth and cheer with its presence.
The romance in this stark contrast captured by Ball Photo Co. reminds us of something from a Jane Austen story. It’s emotional, elegant, and beautiful in the natural bleakness of the orchard backdrop.
From Hannah at Ball Photo Co: “Winter weddings don’t get enough credit. Especially in Arizona, since most of the time it’s a dry winter, with bare trees. But we chose to embrace the whimsy spirit of this dormant apple orchard in the mountains of Sedona, punctuating it with cool pastel tones, and delicate details. Keeping simple with a sweetheart table, we chose to go a little extra and install huge blooms on the bare tree behind, to bring back the romance of this season. Every detail was brought in, with our minds turned to the feeling of being alone (not lost) in a frosty forest. There is a sense of adventure when seeing rows of beautiful, leafless trees. And we want to tell that story.”
