As if two wandering souls in love weren’t lovely enough, Mother Nature decided to up the ante with today’s terribly sweet engagement! Josh & Samantha were right in the middle of their session with Lula King Photo & Film when the gentlest, most magical snow befell their little adventure!
A word from photographer Raluca from Lula King Photo & Film:
“Samantha and Josh reached out to me to capture their engagement session at the University campus where Josh went to school and played rugby. The campus featured an expanse of fields, trees and lakes — that, paired with the falling snowflakes, made this session a dream! A snow storm and sub-zero degree weather didn’t stop this couple from creating such sweet and romantic engagement photographs!”
Love notes from the couple, Josh & Samantha:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Samantha: “We met at college around four years ago. Josh thought I was quite attractive; however, I was constantly doing homework and he thought I tried too hard in school and wasn’t that fun LOL. When I first met Josh I instantly knew he was comedic and always knew how to make people laugh and smile. He was the first to push me outside of my studious ways and make me enjoy life much more fully.”
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
Samantha: “Throughout our schooling together we had the opportunity to travel to Italy and Spain for two months. During this trip we still had quite a lot of homework to do; however, every night when I wanted to sit down and get things done, Josh would always disappear with our other group member. They would come back with 6 bottles of cheap red wine that were pretty much one euro each, and by the time I was done the homework Josh was more of a distraction than help. This happened all the time and our friends would just laugh at how I was trying to get things done and he was having the time of his life drunk on cheap red wine!”
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
Samantha: “I have definitely learned to be more carefree and to stop worrying about the little things. Josh is the type of person to live life in the moment and he has taught me that the little things in life aren’t the ones to worry about, if you won’t remember it in 5 years don’t waste more than 5 minutes on it.”
Josh: “Sammy has taught me how to express love and compassion, and that has helped our relationship grow to true, pure love.”
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
“Don’t let anybody tell you how your relationship should be. Be yourself and don’t let anybody tell you different. Tell your significant other you love them everyday!”
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
“It takes a lot of work, it doesn’t come naturally to some people but finding that person makes love effortless.”
