With the inevitable logistics that wedding days bring, it is so easy for them to give way to stress and hustle—but there is such sweet beauty in a slow, quiet wedding morning. It’s a lost art: breathing it all in, taking time. Katja Scherle sought to capture so restful a morning in this quaint organic Scandinavian bridal boudoir inspiration she captured in Finland. It speaks of gentle ambiance and tranquil reprieves of reflection in those too-often flurried moments at the dawn of a bride’s nuptials. Let the breathing quietude of these images be an encouragement to all brides: slow down, take a moment. You won’t remember the napkin rings, but you will remember the nervous bliss of your heart as it bathed in the rapture of that very important morning. So be present, be still, and be awash with the glory of that day.
From the photographer, Katja Scherle:
“Our beautiful bride Sannu is a real bride, getting up on the morning of her wedding to gorgeous Northern spring sun. The boudoir part of the shoot shows her as a gorgeous woman, dressed in delicate lingerie with many captivating close up shots.
Sannu goes down to a desk to light up a candle, finish up her vows and have a final look at the words she’s going to say to her soon to be husband in a couple of hours. She enjoys the light a little more in silent contemplation, gets dressed and heads down to the ceremony by the sea.
This shoot was styled and directed by the creative geniuses at Hey Look in Finland who specialize in organic and natural events with modern Scandinavian design.”
