Maddy & Nic’s Modern Romance at The Lincoln

Maddy & Nic’s Modern Romance at The Lincoln

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when modern design meets timeless romance—and Maddy and Nic’s wedding at The Lincoln captured that harmony with effortless grace. Set within the historic grandeur of the venue’s towering columns and beautifully preserved architecture, their celebration unfolded with intention, emotion, and a deep sense of style.

From the start, the couple envisioned a day that felt “timeless—somewhere Etta James would want to have a drink,” and every detail echoed that vision. Soft candlelight, refined florals, sleek fashion, and the hum of joy among their closest loved ones created an atmosphere both elevated and deeply personal.

But the heart of their wedding was found in the quiet moments—the way they looked at each other during the ceremony, the meaningful embraces from family, and the private dance they shared as the night came to a close. Under dimmed lights with Bing Crosby playing just for them, Maddy and Nic held onto the sweetness of the day, savoring a moment that needed no audience.

Their celebration at The Lincoln is a beautiful ode to modern love: intentional, elegant, and filled with unforgettable emotion.

“We wanted a timeless look—somewhere Etta James would want to have a drink.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

We met in 2018 through mutual friends. We both remember seeing each other for the first time and what we were wearing. We immediately were comfortable around each other, he was funny and had the curlier hair than me. We were inseparable about the first week.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

Nic purposed in Central Park NYC. It was Christmas time and he planned to purpose in the park then take me on a horse carriage ride. After I said yes, we were walking to meet our carriage driver but the horses food attracts other critters so there were rats everywhere. They would pop out of the rocks or out of a pile of leaves to run in front of us. I kept freezing up out of pure fear—so Nic had to chase the rats away from me, he’s basically my knight in shining armor.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

We had my mom walk down the aisle with his aunt. My sisters (MOH’s) and bridesmaids all embraced him as they walked down the aisle. I didn’t get to see this for myself but those are some of my favorite pictures.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

At the end of the night we everyone like up outside the venue for a sparkler send off. As everyone was taking their places, Nic and I shared a private dance. The DJ turned the song on, dimmed the lights and left. It was just my new husband and I dancing to “our” song. The song is “You’re All I Want for Christmas” by Bing Crosby. Nothing about our wedding was Christmas related so we wanted that moment to just be for us.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

We both have given each other so much confidence. We have found our person and that makes you want to be the best version of yourself you possibly can be.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

All the events during your bridal era! Getting to see your friends and family so often the year leading up to it. The bachelorette, wedding shower, all the excitement bubbling during last birthday/Valentine’s Day/Christmas as fiancés. It’s so fun and the anticipation is everything.
