When a couple chooses to drive cross-country for their engagement session, you know it’s going to be something special. For Trent and Miranda, the destination was none other than Yosemite National Park — a place rich with breathtaking scenery and personal meaning. With Half Dome rising in the distance and waterfalls glistening in the early morning light, their love story unfolded in one of nature’s most awe-inspiring backdrops.
Captured beautifully by Jacqueline O’Brien of Jaded Photography, this session was the perfect blend of natural wonder and heartfelt connection. From the first soft light of dawn to the quiet moments shared on winding trails, every frame radiated with a sense of calm adventure and timeless romance. Yosemite wasn’t just a location for them — it was a place tied to family history, grounding their journey in something deeper.
“Sometimes the little things are not worth the fight — you have to look at the big picture and prioritize what is important.”
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met at a small party with mutual friends but have never known of each other before. Trents protective nature was something Miranda fell for right away. He was there to help her when the party went a little left. In that moment she realized that he would ground her in a time a crisis. Trent’s first impression of Miranda was that she was beautiful, kind, and just a fun person to be around.
Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your engagement session?
We did our engagement pictures in Yosemite National Park because Trent’s family if from the area and the park has always been a special place for him and his family especially Half Dome. Some of our favorite pictures had Half Dome in the background. We are choosing to get married in the church that Miranda grew up going to and is special to her family.
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
The first look we plan on doing before the ceremony and the vows. The first look will be a such a special moment that we get to share together and it will be a moment to reflect on our love for eachother. The vows are special because we think they are something you as a married couple should live by during all the good and hard times in your life.
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
Trent has learned about patience with himself and others around him. He is more grounded and has grown so much within himself since he met Miranda. Miranda has learned how to be more adventurous and be more of a risk taker. For example, realizing that life is short and it is okay to take time away from the “real world” to travel and say yes to more things.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
One piece of advice is that as a couple you have to learn how to be accepting of one another. You have to remember that you are combining two separate people and two seperate lives into one. Sometimes the little things are not worth the fight and you have to look at the big picture and prioritize what is important.
