Love stories are peppered with momentous occasions—birthdays, vacations, weddings, and children—each gives way to the beautiful next. Yet, so much of their substance comes not from the swell of joyous occasion, but the in-between: the the toil of shepherds in their pasture. That everyday, that routine, it’s what builds the very essence of a relationship and to fail to celebrate that labor of devotion would be remiss. That’s what makes lifestyle sessions so compelling: they meet people in their pastures and honor their affections at their very source!
A word from the photographer, Molly Carr:
“This past fall I spent eight days exploring Northern Virginia, two of which were spent in Charlottesville attending the Belle Lumiere Workshop. One of my favorite portions of the workshop was photographing a lifestyle session in a beautiful historic home in downtown Charlottesville. Caroline and Bram, a real couple, had the most wonderful chemistry, and it was so lovely being able to spend a quiet afternoon getting to know them. From the mugs of coffee to the bowl of local blueberries to their cozy loungewear, everything about the session felt warm and inviting.
One of my favorite things about photographing an at home engagement session is the fact that it always feels so personal and intimate. I love being able to get to know you as a couple, to see the spaces where you live your life, the special details that mean the most to you, and to better understand your story. I also find that being able to be photographed in your natural environment almost ensures that your photos will be real, authentic, and captivating.”
