Talk about chemistry! Sophie and Will met in 2015 during their first week at the University of Florida. They had chemistry lab together and their groups were seated next to each other. Sophie admittedly would sneak over to Will’s group to ask for help. Chemical reactions weren’t just happening in class. Something noticeable and tangible between them began to grow. A couple weeks in, Sophie told her family and friends that she had met the man she was going to marry. During one of their many adventures together, Will got down on one knee in the most beautiful place in the world, Glacier National Park, in August 2021. Their families flew out to celebrate their biggest and best adventure yet.
Their wedding ceremony took place at Memorial Presbyterian Church, a sentimental choice as Sohpie’s parents were also married there. The sanctity of marriage was felt witnessing the multiple generations of love being celebrated here. Kristin Cronic, live painter, captured the scene for Sophie and Sutton to cherish in the years to come. Following their ceremony, guests headed to Treasury on the Plaza for a lavish reception.
An underlying floral theme was intertwined with their luxe decor. From the table numbers to the wedding crest and even the wedding cake by Sweet Weddings, delicate floral details added a feminine touch to the design. Tula Rose created the prettiest bouquets and arrangements in hues of pink, ivory and orange. St. Johns Illuminations set the mood with lighting and decor. The gold and silver touches seen in the tablescape complimented the timeless architecture of Treasury on the Plaza.
Dinner, dessert and late night snacks were catered by La Cocina, along with the bar, which featured his and hers specialty cocktails. Guests enjoyed Sophie’s pick, a spicy margarita, and Will’s pick, a Kentucky mule. The Leonard Brothers Band kept guests dancing into the evening. All the details flowed together seamlessly thanks to Coastal Celebrations and Nate Puhr captured it all to perfection.
