Nicole & Casey’s Wedding

Nicole & Casey’s wedding at The Arlo in TX is a beautiful, timeless day. A simplistic design kept things feeling clean and sophisticated while the color palette of ivory, champagne, and pops of pink brought in a romantic feel to the day. The florals created a warm look which is perfect for a summer wedding! Nicole and Casey wanted timeless images that would age well. We made sure to capture that with a clean cropping and clean backgrounds when shooting. The couple is naturally gorgeous and super easy to pose so we got to play around with more model-esk posing and glamor shots. -Wisteria Jade Photography How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Casey and I met in college almost ten years ago. He was a wide receiver at the D1 university we attended, and we had the same English class in my second semester. We instantly made eye contact when I walked into class. I thought it was funny that he was wearing a hat with a ‘C’ for Casey, which I later learned stood for the brand. Since I saw him, I thought he had the most beautiful bright blue eyes, which is still my favorite part about him. A few weeks passed until he had the courage to ask me out on a date to frozen yogurt and a movie; the rest is history. Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! While the bridesmaids and I were getting ready, one of the groomsmen decided to explore and ended up right in front of the glass door to our suite. The window had the special tint that you could see out but not in, and he got close and tried to see what room was behind the door. All of us girls were yelling, “NOO, get out of here!!” so he would not see me and the girls in our robes! Luckily my sister went outside right away and yelled him off. He still, to this day, is scared of my sister. Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning. Weddings can be expensive, and a hurdle we overcame during wedding planning was managing the budget. We sat down together and discussed our priorities, and we took the time to research different vendors and compare prices. We had many DIY projects that helped save money and added a personal touch. Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day? I was born in Venezuela, and at weddings, the last hour is always the “hora loca” or power hour, as our DJ described. We were able to play the best upbeat music in the last hour, and everyone was on the dance floor! My mom also had the great idea to buy Venezuelan candy for everyone to try and eat, and it was all gone in a few hours! What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? The most important part of the wedding day would be our last dance. It was such a sweet moment where Casey and I got to talk about our favorite moments of the day and take it all in. It still felt surreal that he was finally my husband! What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another? The best thing I have learned from Casey is patience. I tend to get overwhelmed when I want to get things done quickly, and I forget to breathe and let my emotions get the best of me. He constantly reminds me to slow down and enjoy the little things in life, which I love about him. What is your favorite thing about each other? Casey and I have found a beautiful harmony between our interests and differences. Our mutual hobbies and values have deepened our connection, while our unique passions and distinct personalities continually enrich our relationship. What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Our favorite parts during the wedding planning were choosing the venue and tasting the food!

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? Take your time! Do not rush things. Shop around for different vendors that will suit you the best. Look around at various venues and follow them on Instagram. When they post current weddings, you can get ideas of things you like and dislike for your special day. What is the most honest thing you can say about love? Love can be beautiful and transcendent, capable of inspiring selflessness and acts of great kindness. It can bind people together in powerful ways, fostering deep bonds and intimacy. Love often involves risk and requires effort, compromise, and communication. Photographer: Wisteria Jade Photography
