We have such love for this next sweet feature with Josh & Brooke: the loveliness of their day is everything pretty and pink and magically floral! With The Mill at Fine Creek adorned with artfully placed florals by Amanda Burnette to set the scene, these two soulmates began their journey into forever—and we are only too thrilled to be a part of it!
From photographer Nikki Santerre:
“From the perfect placement of the flower crown on Brooke’s blonde locks, to the incredible woodland feel at the stonework on the grounds of The Mill at Fine Creek, Brooke and Josh’s wedding day was simple elegance from start to finish. The way the greens translate on fuji in these images are my favorite!”
Love notes from the couple, Josh & Brooke:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Brooke: “Neither of us remembers how we met but we know we met sometime in middle school. We didn’t go to the same school, but we had mutual friends. I thought Josh was so cute mainly because he was tall and played baseball!”
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Brooke: “My favorite thing about Josh is his ability to make me laugh. Josh is full of corny jokes, useless knowledge, and is the very best at finding cute Instagram posts of puppies. I love those things about him!”
Josh: “My favorite thing about Brooke is her ability to be so kind while also keeping me in check. I also love her laugh which is why I’m always telling her my corny jokes.”
What part of your wedding day was most important to you?
Brooke: “I think the most special part of our day was seeing each other for the first time as I was walking down the aisle. I kept telling everyone beforehand that I didn’t think either of us would cry when we first saw each other. I was wrong! At first glance, I saw Josh’s eyes welling up which made it hard for me to control my tears.”
Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
Brooke: “Josh’s Uncle David married us! Uncle David is a pastor in Upstate New York and we couldn’t think of anyone better suited to officiate our wedding. What a special gift to have a family member bless our union!”
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day!
Brooke: “Someone gave Josh a piece of gum and he forgot to spit it out before the ceremony. The second thing I noticed as I made my way down the aisle, after I saw his eyes tearing up, was him chewing gum! Josh said he was nervous and couldn’t stop chomping!”
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
“To not sweat the small stuff (which I’m still working on!) Whether it be in regard to your wedding, your home, your relationship – in the end the small stuff won’t matter. Focus on the big picture, your life together, and don’t let the small, insignificant things bog you down.”
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Brooke: “It can be hard at times, but it is so worth it! Things aren’t always perfect or fair but the good far outweighs the bad. I feel that I can overcome anything that comes my way as long as I have Josh by my side. Being married to your best friend is the very best gift in the world!”
