Meghan & Michael’s Wedding at The Lodge at the Hops Company

Meghan and Michael’s wedding at the newly redesigned Lodge at the Hops Company was the kind of day that felt effortlessly joyful — beautifully lit, deeply emotional, and full of genuine connection. Meghan began her morning getting ready in the cottage on the property, while Michael prepared nearby, each space setting the tone for a day rooted in anticipation and excitement.

Surrounded by 190 of their closest friends and family, the celebration unfolded with ease and warmth. The light was flawless throughout the day, and Michael’s emotional presence — from the quiet moments to the big ones — set the emotional heartbeat of the celebration. It was a wedding that felt honest and full, the kind of day everyone still talks about as truly unforgettable.

“Surrounded by 190 of their closest friends and family, they truly had the best day ever.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met through mutual friends. Our friends planned for us to meet up at a brewery. Michael came on his own and Meghan brought a posse with her just so she had support. Looking back they laugh because she really bombarded him with a bunch of people he didn’t know. But it was all worth it because he won everyone over even Meghan’s niece Vivian.

Meghan’s first impression was that she loved Michael’s laugh and the way he looks at you with his big brown eyes. Michael thought Meghan was out of his league.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
Michael knew Meghan was the one on their second date. He helped her build a dresser and little did she know that he absolutely hates putting furniture together. He has since put many pieces of furniture together 🙂

Meghan on the other hand didn’t save Michael’s number in her phone until about a month into dating each other. Every time he would text her it would come up as “Maybe Mike” but then she realized it was a number worth saving.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
Our dog Hardy is a working dog and wasn’t able to actually be at the wedding. We had drinks named after him and drink stirrers & cocktail napkins with his picture on them to incorporate him into our day since he’s such an important part of our life.

We also had our moms bring up the rings during our ceremony — that was special to us to have them be a part of that moment.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
Our favorite part of our wedding day was our first look because it was just us. We loved having a few minutes to ourselves and being able to soak in the moment with each other and no one else around.

Having all of our friends and family in one place for the night was also really special and a moment we will never forget.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
Michael’s favorite thing about Meghan is her kindness and how she truly takes his thoughts & opinions into consideration no matter how crazy they may be. Meghan loves Michael’s sense of humor and how he genuinely loves and cares for her.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
Planning a wedding is honestly stressful and a lot of work but we realized it doesn’t have to be perfect and most wouldn’t notice any imperfections about the day. Planning it with your best friend and knowing that is who you are going to spend the rest of your life with made the stress of wedding planning all worth it.

Enjoy the fun little moments of planning and on the wedding day soak it all in. It goes by way too fast — be present and have fun.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Life gets busy with work and everything else but make sure you make time for each other during the busy week. Whether its sitting down to eat dinner together or just talking for a few minutes after a long day, those little moments are so important.

Meghan works from home most days and the highlight of her day is when Michael gets home from work — she steps away for a few minutes so they can chat with each other & catch up about their days.
