Kyle and Jess’ family session is a quiet reflection of a life lived with intention. After uprooting their lives and moving states to plant a church in Lexington, Kentucky, this family stepped into the unknown with faith leading the way. Their story is one of courage, sacrifice, and deep trust — choosing to love people well and follow where they felt called.
There is an unmistakable joy woven through these images, one that speaks less about perfection and more about presence. Their love for one another, their children, and their community shines through in a way that feels both grounding and hopeful — a reminder of the power of family anchored in faith and shared purpose.
“Family means doing life with the people God gave you — loving, believing in, and supporting each other through every season.”

What’s your favorite family pastime together?
We love to sneak away just the 4 of us as often as we can! Life is busy with all the things, so when we can take small getaways together, it fuels our hearts for the next season!
Any lessons you learned as a family through the last year?
We moved & parachuted our family into a city where we knew no one. It was a huge leap of faith and we had no idea what was going to happen when we answered YES to God. We planted a new church 9 months ago and have seen hundreds give their lives to Jesus. It’s been remarkable. This past year our family has learned to always have each others backs, to forgive quickly and to have immense grace on one another.
Tell us a fun or silly story that happened to your family recently!
Well, we have a 10 year old girl and an 8 year old boy so you can imagine our home each day! They bring us so much joy & laughter.

What does family mean to you?
To us, family means doing life with the people God gave you. To love, believe in & support each other through every season. Looking for the good in one another & praying for the future together.
What have you recently done to put family as a major focus in your life?
We believe when you sacrifice everything you think you had to do what God has called your entire family to do, there is no room for selfishness. Our faith and our family is all we have so that’s our focus!

What are the best things you’ve learned from each other?
We have learned to celebrate the small victories together. Whoever is winning, we are ALL winning. We’re a team. We build each other up. If someone is having a rough day, we share plenty of grace for them. We are all human, but if you keep the main thing, the main thing, everything seems to fall back in place.
If you had one piece of advice for other families, what would it be?
Serve one another and FIGHT for each other. This is who God has entrusted you with and they are WORTH it. It’s not always perfect, in fact, very hard in certain seasons. However, God is so good at strengthening the areas we are weak in so we don’t HAVE to be perfect. Love & care for each other deeply. Put one another before yourself. The investment is worth it!
