Today we are featuring a mediterranean inspired shoot filled with lovely light and colorful details! Lavender & lemons were chosen as the theme of the editorial for their beautiful color & the symbolism behind each one, which the planner explains more below. I personally love when details are carefully selected for a deeper meaning than just the look!
“The theme for the styled shoot was Lavender and Lemon Love with Apulian Style and Mediterranean vibes. Masseria Limonaia offers just that with an infinity pool, citrus orchard and large veranda and private SPA. The inspiration came from my love of lavender. It is said to bring good luck whilst also being a symbol of love and devotion, making it a particularly meaningful flower to include in the decor. Lavender also has calming properties, great for pre ceremony nerves!
Lemon is bright and pretty, a local fruit grown in the Mediterranean – and in the orchard of the villa itself. Lemons are considered a symbol of longevity, unity, love and happiness. I thought the combination of lavender and lemon brought true meaning and life to my theme. The color palette was reflected from this. The florist beautifully put together the florals matching the theme using lilac roses, lavender, eucalyptus, soft rose curcuma, deep blue hydrangea and white limonium. Some of these flowers the florist sourced whilst out walking locally. The unique table centerpiece was tall and colorful, with lots of greenery and dotted with lemons. The floral arch was the main attraction of the ceremony area, delicately decorated in the 3 corners with floral arrangements and a collection of lemons in the 4th corner.
The bride was carrying an elegant and romantic bouquet. The chairs in the ceremony area were decorated with lavender colored ribbon and sprigs of lavender. The dinner table was set up with golden under-plates and cutlery, lavender colored glasses, olive branches and sprigs of lavender splayed across the table on either side of the floral centerpiece. The wedding favors were lavender and lemon organic soap bars sourced from a supplier in Malta. Their products are all natural and organic.
The wedding dress was designed and made in Italy, created for young and romantic brides. The softness of the fabric, the weave on the bodice and the three-dimensional flowers on the shoulder make this dress elegant and sophisticated. The flower detail on the dress also matched perfectly with the hand-crafted clay florals in the crystal flower tiara. A beautiful, romantic and sophisticated headpiece. Each flower centre is accented with lilac Swarovski crystals, designed and handmade for the shoot to match the theme. The Bride’s Hair and make-up was styled beautifully to show off the details of the dress and natural beauty. Decorated with lavender and lemons and sugar frosting, the cake was displayed on a linen covered table with olive branches and lemons.” – Amethyst Fairytale Weddings
