Marriage is a collaboration. It’s the joining of two things into a single, greater whole; two souls, two histories, two sensibilities, and — on occasion — two very, very different people. But that’s what makes it interesting.
You see, wedding two likes only seems to make a broader, same thing: perfectly lovely, to be sure, but quite unchanging. It leaves no room for the interest, spontaneity, flourish, or adventure of finding that one person who is so unapologetically “other” and yet still fits your humanness like a well-tailored glove… It invites perspective, a fresh set of eyes to look unto the world in ways you could never imagine, to cultivate in you a little spark of lovesome madness which otherwise would fade in your overlooking hands. What greater picture of humanity could you find than that?
When photographer Lauren Demby traveled to California wine country for a collaboration with Cause We Can Events, their joining forces came to such stunning life! What unfolded was more than an opportunity for enriched friendship and perspective, but a visual representation of opposites in perfect communion: hard and soft, modern and organic, precise and perfectly imperfect. A little spark of lovingly lovesome madness to feed the romantic soul!
A word from photographer, Lauren Demby of Lauren Renee Designs:
“This styled shoot was an amazing mixture of vendors, I am based out of Pittsburgh but traveled to LA this past March to collaborate with Gabby, from Cause We Can Events, on this Editorial. We wanted to put together a shoot that had beautiful muted neutral tones, and a pop of color in the black and mustard yellow accents. The couple, Tenille and Chris, are recently married as well, and being able to capture their love was truly special!”
