One of the most beautiful adventures of this business comes on the tails of seeming calamity, when carefully laid plans go awry. It’s the fallout we never quite anticipated, the threat to that image we had in our minds of exactly how everything would turn out—and yet, it so often results in the happiest of accidents and outcomes. Linzi & Nicholas’ anniversary session with Kandi Daniel Studios is the perfect example!
From photographer, Kandi Daniel Studios:
“Linzi and Nicholas are celebrating their third anniversary on June 7th. We wanted to do something fun for their session so we reached out to some vendor friends and asked for a few items to help make this day extra special!
We left Atlanta at 5 am and headed for Forsyth Park in Savannah for a picnic lunch. A basket was loaded with various snacks of cheese, nuts, berries and other goodies. For dessert they had the sweetest heart shaped jam-filled shortbread cookies, which tasted as good as they looked! After they finished their picnic they took a stroll around the famous fountain in the park, even getting to witness a wedding taking place. They finished just in time before the bottom fell out of the sky!
We loaded up and drove in the rain to Tybee Island for a what we were hoping would be a sunset dinner and dancing in the ocean. It rained for a solid two hours and we were beginning to worry that wasn’t going to happen. Then the rain stopped and the clouds parted and the most beautiful sunset was waiting on us.
Champagne toasts, cake, and gifts completed this anniversary celebration. Linzi gave Nicholas a leather journal, which is the gift for the third anniversary. They will write love notes to each other each year on their anniversary. We stayed on the beach until we could no longer see the sun and headed back home to Atlanta that evening. It was a long fun day and one they said they would always remember. I love sharing these seasons of life and love with couples, especially when I’m able to make it a little extra special for them!”
From Linzi & Nicholas:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
“We met our senior year of high school through mutual friends.”
Linzi: “My first impression of Nicholas was that he was just a good ole country boy, a true southern gentleman. He was ‘Mr. Personality’ and still is. He was so silly and so much fun to be around!”
Nicholas: “I thought she was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. I thought to myself I wanna marry that girl one day. She was so down to earth but also sassy and I loved that and still love that about her.”
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Nicholas: “I love the fact that she is always going to be true to her core and be who she is. She is a very genuine person and old fashioned and I love that about her!”
Linzi: “Goodness. I have so many favorite things. He is always so silly and has this silly little grin that makes my heart just melt. I love and admire the fact that he doesn’t care what others think of him and he’s always going to be himself.”
What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Nicholas: “Love cant be forced, love is a true passion that you have for somone that words can’t explain. You as a person will know in your heart when you fall in love with the right person.”
Linzi: “I don’t think I can top his answer. He will admit he isn’t the best when it comes to writing stuff down but he just melted my heart again with that answer.”
