Kris & Jessica’s Joyful Session

Kris and Jessica’s session just makes us smile! They shared some of their love story of meeting each other and some advice for what makes their relationship work with us below.

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Jessica: We met through a mutual friend during a night out in Raleigh. I remember Kris strumming his acoustic guitar with a smile that could light up the room and he immediately caught my attention! I could tell he had a kind spirit and warm heart. He was so sweet and fun to be around.

Kris: I remember Jessica coming into the room and there was a aura about her that captivated me. Outside of being stunningly beautiful, her intelligence and mellow vibes attracted me to her.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
Jessica: His sense of humor! Our day’s are filled with laughter and positive energy! He always knows how to put a smile on my face. I also admire his determination and discipline. Any project he takes on is executed in excellence whether it is music, learning a new language or developing a new skill. One of the first things he told me when we met is ” I don’t want you to be a woman with potential.” He motivates me to be the Woman Boss that I know I can be and to excel in whatever I put my mind to.

Kris: Her optimism! Even when there is something unsavory going on, she encourages me to look at things from a brighter side. She is the silver lining to my storms. I also enjoy the fact that she wants to live life to the fullest. Her attitude towards life helps me not get caught up on the little things, but to focus on what really matters. At the end of day, where I am weak, she is strong. Her presence in my life encourages me to be a better man.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Self-care is so important, even more so when in a relationship. Continue to nurture the seed within yourself so that the relationship will continue to grow and flourish. You must be able to love yourself first before sharing that love with someone else.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
For us, love is a never ending car ride with an abundance of scenic routes meshed with our favorite love songs that draw us closer together. Although there will bumps, obstacles and inclement weather along the way, the warmth and reassurance of each other’s companionship makes it all worth while.
