Of all of the things that we can stress about wedding days — the dress, the shoes, the venue, the flowers — none is greater than love. We’ve seen just about every deviation from wedded perfection you could possibly dream of: red wine spilled down the front of a bride’s gown, hurricanes with massive flooding, power outages, delayed ceremonies, a father-of-the-bride who forgot his pants… the list is endless. Yet, with every blunder, each perfectly unforeseeable flaw, we see time and again a pair of soulmates who laughs and grabs each other’s hand and dives headlong into togetherness.
Wedding days are full of incredible beauty: they’re a meaningful convergence of talent and service with the intention of celebrating a beautiful union. But, their meaning doesn’t come from their material appeal, it’s borne of their purpose. They exist because two people choose each other, vow to spend today and every day running the good race together, and do so wrapped in the arms of their most cherished loved ones. It’s a sight to see, a feeling to experience, and is — above all else — what gives us breath.
From White Wren Collaborative photographers, Live View Studios:
“Kevin & Trudy are all about simple love: they were wed in the sweetest little white chapel abounding in homemade details, forgoing the usual dinner & dance routine for a lunch teeming with all of their absolute favorite humans! When they came to us, they stressed above all else, they wanted photographs of their people, their family, their friends, each loved one that traveled from (very) far and (world)wide to share in their special day! That was their focus: people, relationships, and the warmth they felt surrounded by a wealth of affection convened to celebrate their love for each other. And, as they stole a few minutes away from all the hum of excited loved ones, you could see just what kind of exquisite beauty they had gathered to honor. Theirs is a love that speaks in tender glances and gentle hands meeting, it whispers ‘I love you’ at the end of a laugh, and never loses sight of the other. It’s like gravity.
Kevin & Trudy are all about simple love, but simple love doesn’t mean small love — theirs is very grand indeed!”
