Some weddings feel like a destination—not just a place, but a fully realized world. For Ellie and Patrick, their celebration at The Pelican Club was exactly that—an immersive blend of Palm Beach vibrance and Hamptons ease, all filtered through a lens of bold, joyful design.
Inspired by the timeless glamour of Slim Aarons, the day unfolded in layers of color, texture, and playful sophistication. Tropical motifs met nautical nods, rattan and caning balanced maximal textiles, and florals spilled across tables alongside fruit-laden details that felt both abundant and artful. It was a celebration that didn’t shy away from personality—instead, it leaned fully into it.
From the ceremony overlooking the water to a reception alive with music, movement, and unexpected moments (including a spontaneous on-stage performance and a late-night ice cream truck), every element reflected a couple who approached their wedding with creativity, intention, and a deep love for gathering people together.
“Love is choosing each other—again and again, in every season.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Ellie and Patrick met on Hinge, with their first date set at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami’s Design District. From the start, the connection felt effortless, rooted in a shared appreciation for art, travel, and thoughtful details.
What made it even more meaningful was the serendipity surrounding their relationship—shared family connections that predated their meeting made it feel as though their story had been unfolding long before they realized it.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
Late in the evening, Ellie surprised everyone by reappearing in a flamingo-pink mini dress and jumping on stage to sing Valerie by Amy Winehouse.
What started as a playful moment quickly turned into a full crowd singalong. Between that, a choreographed first dance, a conga line leading guests outside, and a late-night ice cream truck, the night felt like a joyful, slightly chaotic celebration in the best possible way.
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
With both of them juggling demanding careers and frequent travel, much of their early relationship was long distance.
Instead of letting it become a challenge, they turned it into an adventure—meeting in different cities and creating meaningful moments wherever they could. That mindset carried into their wedding planning, allowing them to approach the process with flexibility and creativity.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
Family history was woven beautifully throughout the day.
Patrick arrived in a vintage Jaguar restored by his father, while Ellie wore heirloom jewelry, including an antique hair comb and a locket holding photographs of her grandparents on their wedding day.
Even the smallest details reflected their story—from custom cufflinks inspired by family heirlooms to swizzle sticks featuring their beloved pets.
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
The ceremony.
Standing together in front of the people who shaped their lives, they focused on what mattered most—committing to one another and the life they’re building together.

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
Ellie learned the value of steadiness and integrity from Patrick, while Patrick learned from Ellie how to thoughtfully create a life filled with beauty, connection, and intention.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
For Ellie, the design process was a highlight—transforming the venue into something that felt like their own personal South Florida social club.
Collaborating with her mother on every detail made the process even more meaningful, while Patrick loved watching that vision come to life.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Approach the process with a sense of play.
When you stay curious, enjoy the experience, and remember the reason behind it all, everything else tends to fall into place.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Love is both simple and profound.
It’s choosing each other, again and again—through every season. It’s friendship, adventure, patience, and the quiet realization that you’ve found someone who feels like home.
