Colorful Distillery Wedding

These two have the sweetest love story that we are so excited for you to read about, but first, can we take a second to admire these amazing details and this killer venue??? We are in LOVE with the stereo wall and the floral decor that graces all of the spaces on this beautiful day! The love is authentic and sweet and we are so happy that you get to see it! Enjoy!

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
Being from Florida, I’m really new to this “hunting” lifestyle that is so prevalent in Mississippi and Tennessee. But being an Biology major in college, I love spending time in the outdoors and spending time with John Garrett. We’ve been together 6 years now, but that first Christmas I was so nervous and didn’t know what to get John Garrett. I ended up getting him a new leather belt with a Remington Shot gun shell on the clasp. Fast forward to wedding dress shopping, going to Maggie Louise, I had the most amazing experience! When it came down to picking the right dress, I knew exactly which one was the one as soon as Caroline pulled it out. The Remington, the name of my wedding dress was perfect. I loved every detail it has, the sleeves, but most of all the name because I knew right then that John Garrett would love it.

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?
There were two moments for me that were super special. When John Garrett and I did our first look and the have that first moment together was really amazing. We laughed, cracked jokes and just had a really fun moment with our photographers.
The next moment came when I least expected it. Right before the door opened and I was about to walk down the isle with my brother, Wesley, he told me he was proud of me and the woman I’ve become. That special moment will never leave me and still makes me tear up today.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
In November before the wedding my grandmother passed away, we were all so shocked when it happened. After things settled down, John Garrett and my mom, Leigh Ann, took some of my grandmothers diamonds and had them made into a necklace for me to wear. It’s so beautiful and so special for me to have my Granny with me everyday. My momma had another surprise for me, before she passed my Granny hand crochet a hankie for me to walk down the isle with. This hankie also came with instructions to turn the hankie into a baby bonnet for when John Garrett and I start our family. My Granny was the most caring and kindest women I’ve ever know and for her to be with me on my wedding day was so important to me. I think my Mom, John Garrett and of course my Granny really made that happen!

For the photographer: Guests mingled and enjoyed upscale Southern food surrounded by stunning florals and sweet personal details – like a record player guest book, neon signs, and two amazing wedding cakes (a floral cake for the bride, and a second in the shape of their sweet pup for the groom, who is an avid hunter!). Somehow, this wedding had it all – sweet traditions, classic Southern style, and so much modern flair. What a joy to be a part of it!
