There’s a place where art and the real world meet. Where reality has a touch of fantasy in it, so so much that you’re not quite sure if you’re looking at real life or famous painting by one of the masters. This is one of those times. And while we mostly feature real-life events here at The White Wren, we are also strong advocates of art and beautiful things, and this shoot just spoke in that vein for us. We hope it inspires you too!
from the photographer, Ashley Edwards: “This is an editorial all about the bride and her best friend/maid of honor. I was inspired to design this editorial by the soft pastels of Victorian paintings of angels, which is reflected in the unique bridesmaid dress, as well as the mission architecture of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Our color palette of pinks, blues, and sand is displayed both in our oceanside table setting, florals by Mignon Floral Co, makeup by Rosa Mercedes, gown by Claire Pettibone, and the mission architecture and historic art.
We thought it would be fun and unique to create an editorial with just a bride and her bridesmaid to celebrate friendship and beauty. Our models, Amy and Jaclyn were a perfect fit for this fun day at the gorgeous Carmel Beach. Mignon created a unique floral and twig structure that adds texture to our design. I chose a Georgian replica engagement ring featuring a red stone surrounded by seed pearls to add a splash of bright color.”
