Audrey & Ian’s Joshua Tree Elopement

Audrey & Ian’s Joshua Tree Elopement

This beautiful couple nailed the desert vibes with their private elopement in Joshua Tree National Park! We really appreciate a good love story, and this couple stayed true to themselves and to their story with this romantic ceremony followed by a gathering with all of their closest friends. What really stuck out to us was the warmth of these images and the love that these two share really exuding from these images. One of our favorite images is one of the last ones that you see at the bottom of the post, of the couple and a few of their friends dancing and celebrating. Its pure and comfortable, representing what a wedding should be about! Make sure that you check it out, along with the other dreamy desert ceremony!

From Ian and Audrey: Although we were eloping and keeping things natural and minimalist, we still wanted to involve elements of a traditional wedding like a suit, a wedding dress, something blue, etc. My wedding day jewelry was made custom for me by a local San Diego jewelry designer. She created me a two tiered lariat necklace and matching bracelet made of herkimer, apatite, and aquamarine, which is my birthstone. I got him cuff links made out of old maps of Joshua Tree as a wedding present.

From Ian and Audrey: We met in Seattle, and started out as friends. We both worked for the same company, on different teams in overlapping departments. Pool was a staple outing for the groups. So after a few games, we started challenging each other to pool games, but I wasn’t very good and was always asking him for tips. We started shooting pool during our lunch breaks and after work at a local pub. Soon, we realized we had a ton in common. Sparks flew and the rest is history.

From Audrey: We didn’t want our wedding day to be a big production. Keeping the day personal was perfect for us. Just us, my sister to officiate, and our two best friends as witnesses. My sister helped me get ready. Our friends made sure we had finished writing our vows that morning and that we always had a beer or shot of tequila in our hand throughout the day. Because we were traveling to get married, anything we wanted there with us we had to bring. The intimate day was a group effort, and everyone contributed in many special ways. Our wedding day went at our own pace, on our own terms, and allowed us to savor each special moment.
