Newborn time is a special time. Yes, there are sleepless nights, sometimes fussy babies, and adjusting to a new arrival in the home. But those days are such sweet memories. The miracle of new life is like nothing else – meant to be soaked in and cherished and remembered fondly as the little ones grow up way too fast.
from the photographer: “There is nothing sweeter than those early days with your newborn. Those first few weeks that are filled with sleepless nights and a level of exhaustion that you did not believe was humanly possible. But somehow, you manage to make it and survive what felt like where the hardest days of parenthood. Soon, those hard days will become the sweetest faint memories. The memories that you wish you go back too if you had the opportunity.
This family welcomed me into their home, to tell their story of parenthood. The love they have for their child is evident in every image. When I photograph newborns, I want the parent’s love for their child to radiate in ever image. I want to leave them with images that they can feel and bring back memories of a time that once was.”
What’s your favorite family pastime? “My husband and I share a mutual love for sports. Specifically, Alabama. I danced on the dance team at Bama and he played baseball there too. So we’ve always enjoyed supporting Alabama sports all together. Other than that, just spending time with our newest addition Easton, our 1 year old Golden Retriever Boone, and our rescue cat Cosmo.
Any lessons you learned as a family through the last year? Something we’ve both learned this year is patience. I think we’ve also learned that we are capable of functioning on little to no sleep.
What does family mean to you? Family means everything. It’s our small circle who love and support each other through the good and the bad.
