Hannah & Banks’ wedding day was steeped in meaning, set within the walls of their newly remodeled 1903 home — a gem listed on the National Registry of Historic Homes. Both the ceremony and reception unfolded on the property, blending the home’s historic charm with timeless and elegant design details.
This house has long been central to their love story. Banks proposed to Hannah in the front room, the same space where they shared their first look on the wedding day. From heartfelt family tributes to lively celebrations that drew in the whole town, their wedding felt as intimate as it was unforgettable.

“Real love is sacrifice. It’s not just a feeling — it’s a choice to lay yourself down daily, like Christ did for us.”

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!
Being from a small town, when someone gets married, the whole town knows — invited or not! On our wedding day, in true small-town fashion, an unexpected guest somehow made his way up to the third floor of our newly renovated 1903 home (our venue), happily exploring with a big slice of cake in hand. None of us had any idea who he was — not us, not our families! Let’s just say he got a nice tour… and then a polite escort out.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.
One of the biggest hurdles we faced while planning our wedding was renovating our 1903 home — which also happened to be our venue! Juggling construction decisions with wedding plans was no small task, especially with a non-negotiable deadline: the most important day of our lives. It was definitely stressful at times, but seeing it all come together made it even more meaningful.

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?
One special way we honored the Miller side of the family on our wedding day was through a beautiful cigar bar set up in our greenhouse cellar. This was a tribute to Banks’ grandfather, Wonnie B. Miller, who was a local tobacco farmer for over 50 years. We displayed his company label, W.B. Miller and Sons, along with a framed photo of him beside the cigars — a small but meaningful way to celebrate his legacy and keep his presence close on such a special day.

What is your favorite thing about each other?
My favorite thing about my new wife is her kindness that flows from a deep faith. She sees the best in people, encourages me when I doubt, and walks beside me with grace and strength — making every day better just by being herself.
My favorite thing about my new husband is the way he makes me feel safe — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. He leads with quiet strength, loves with humility, and reminds me every day what it means to be chosen and cherished.

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?
Real love is sacrifice. It’s not just a feeling — it’s a choice to lay yourself down daily, like Christ did for us. It’s patient when it’s hard, kind when it’s undeserved, and faithful when it’s tested.
