Set against the scenic backdrop of the Swan House, this styled proposal / engagement shoot captures a sweet emotion between this newly engaged couple!
from the photographer: In epic style, Sawyer was successful in completely and utterly surprising Jocelyn with a proposal(despite her suspecting him for several months in advance) in the most romantic setting in Tokyo, The Skinjuku Goyen National Garden. Complete with a hidden photographer capturing the moment, he got down on one knee as they stopped across a bridge overlooking the serene ponds and beautiful park.
Nestled within the Atlanta History Center, The Swan House is one of Atlanta’s most treasured landmarks. Built in 1928, the house reflects classical Renaissance Revival architecture, designed by famed architect Philip Trammell Shutze. The estate is a picturesque symbol of the South’s old-world charm, with its sprawling lawns, intricate fountains, and majestic staircases.
My goal with Jocelyn and Sawyer’s session was to create art that not only highlighted the elevated beauty of the Swan House but also the elevated beauty of this season together. There was a quiet passion between them—a sense of deep connection that words could never fully capture. Every glance, every touch, was filled with the most delicate intensity. I knew it was going to be a great session given the location, but once I locked focus on Jocelyn I knew I was in for a treat and was going to be able to push artistic boundaries. Both Jocelyn and Sawyer are aspiring actors, spending their free time in short films and other various productions. Their love was without a doubt on full display and I loved how comfortable they were in front of the camera. It felt like we were just a couple of creatives on the grounds of this iconic venue, creating expressive, joyful, painterly work together.
Her first look—a free-spirited, cream-colored, textured floor-length dress—captured her sense of adventure and whimsy. The dress, flowing like soft waves, was perfect for frolicking across the lush Swan House lawn.
Jocelyn’s second outfit: a silky, delicate dress with a plunging criss cross back that fit her like a glove and shimmered with every graceful movement.
Sawyer sported a classically understated blue coat and jeans, with a button down shirt change from white to light blue.
