Sand Dunes Engagement Session

A unique sand dunes engagement session in Oregon that gives nothing but desert vibes! This engagement session is founded on a sweet love story that started when Victoria & Andy were teenagers & blossomed into what it is today. Incorporating a stunning bouquet crafted with florals that couldn’t have matched the environment more perfectly. Both wore black outfits which made a statement & stood out against the sea of sand, another top notch detail of a unique engagement celebration!

Tell us about the ring/band.
“A pear shape engagement ring was always my dream! I had always been so drawn to it, they are also rare to come by. Andy had worked as a jeweler at the time and had surprised me with a one of a kind. My ring was from a special collection called “Say I Do”. It came with a certification card from the Gemological Science International. White gold ring with an eternity band with two rows of diamond halos surrounding the containing one natural pear shape diamond”

How did you meet?
“We met at the young age of 16 and 18 through a mutual friend, back in the days before Instagram, Snapchat, etc. it was all about Myspace. He added me on Myspace and I accepted. We then commented back and fourth on each others Myspaces until we exchanged numbers. A handful of texts were sent between us, those texts then turned into late night phone calls ending us falling asleep on the phone together up until the sunrise. Phone calls ended but a good morning text was what kept us going again, the next thing you know a couple of months passed by and Andy asked me to be his girlfriend. I guess you can say we were high school sweet hearts!”

What is your proposal story?
“It was a warm July summer. We both decided to lay out a blanket in the backyard and just watch the stars, we laid out until midnight just talking. Conversations about our past, our present, and our future. The conversation of us getting married was random but we both decided together that it was something we wanted and that’s basically how it happened. We were young and dumb like any teens were, just two young teenagers madly in love. We stayed engaged. Marriage was not on top of our list. We Lived our lives and watched each other grow into the young adults we are today, graduated high school, went to college, and started our careers. We went through the good and the bad together, faced many challenging obstacles that most young adults have never had to faced themselves. We then had our daughter Mila October 23rd, 2015 our whole world and our little family of 3 was created. After recently celebrating our decade together of being together for 10 years and reminiscing everything that we’ve been through together throughout the years of our lives we finally decided to officially tie the knot!”

Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.
“Most engagement sessions are either always done at the beach, forest, or in a field. I wanted to be different and stand out. I had a vision of being out in the dessert with just us. Nothing around us, nothing in sight, just us and only us together. The closest to a dessert we have in Oregon are the sand dunes, so we did that. We both wore black, Andy wore a simple button up dress shirt and slacks from Express. I wore an off the shoulder slightly sheer black dress with a long train from Amazon for only $60. I wanted something to blow in the wind and to really capture a dramatic moment. We added some black smoke bombs to our session for that big WOW factor, and that did wonders in our video and photos! We also wanted to do a photo with our masks and one with our fists in the air to remember the time in our lives right now where the world turned hectic and chaotic. But we had EACH OTHER and LOVE. Our photographer and videographer made my vision come to life and created magic that day. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and can’t wait to see what they create on our wedding day!”
