This Yeamans Hall Club wedding is nothing short of spectacular. Mallory and Ben envisioned a wedding that was far from traditional—a celebration brimming with freshness, fun, and a kaleidoscope of hues, especially shades of blue. Collaborating with Emma Ivey Events, they brought their vibrant vision to life at the enchanting Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, South Carolina. This location held a special place in their hearts, as it marked the beginning of their relationship and held sentimental value, especially because Ben’s grandmother has a home there.
Mallory and Ben wanted their wedding to be fresh, and fun, with lots of colors, patterns, hues of blue, and most importantly not feel like a traditional wedding. They worked with Emma Ivey Events to help realize their vision at the Yeamans Hall Club in Charleston, South Carolina. The couple’s relationship began in South Carolina, Ben’s grandmother has a home there, which made this location even more meaningful to both families.
Inside the tented reception space, they created a warm and inviting environment for their 130 guests by mixing textures in the linens, using lots of pattern play, and weaving in their colors of light sky blue, lavender, violet, some pops of peach and all tones of greens throughout their design elements. -Tea with Jaine / Lauren Swann
From the Bride: The bride’s goal for the design was for fun pops of color and loved the idea of hues of blue throughout and playing the juxtaposition between all of the tradition of Yeamans Hall with the whimsy of it all. The design of the tent space was very inspired by interiors and pattern play. The location for the wedding was actually the place where the couple’s relationship began and where Ben and his family spent a lot of time as his grandmother had a house there. Ben is an avid golfer so getting married on the golf course was extra special. The bride was also very drawn to the Spanish moss-filled oak trees that were throughout the wedding location.
Details about the attire; I wanted all my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and loved the idea of mixing and matching. I wanted it to be a fun mix of colors and patterns. My dress was from the designer Jane Hill and I loved the simplicity of it yet still had delicate details on it that made it feel special. How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Ben and I are both from Baltimore, MD however did not meet until my best friend introduced us in July of 2020. We hit it off almost immediately and it felt like we had known each other for forever. We quickly realized how many mutual friends we had and how we both had very similar highschool experiences. What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? The guest experience was very important to Ben and I as we were making everyone travel to Charleston. We had a small intimate wedding with our closest friends and family. We wanted the weekend to be fun and seamless for all those traveling to celebrate us. What is your favorite thing about each other?
I love how patient, kind, and selfless Ben is. He makes me want to be a better person. He also makes me laugh.
Mallory is one of the most supportive and caring people I know, which makes her the best wife and mother to our son Obie.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Our favorite part were all the trips we got to take to Charleston while planning our wedding. Meeting with our planner, vendors, doing tastings was all so much more fun when we got to do it in one of our favorite places.
