Lovely Delicate Bridal Boudoir Session at The Watson House

Delicate Bridal Boudoir Session

Beauty is a many-faceted notion—it’s far more than roseate smiles and plain “pretty,” far greater than clothes or manner or simple finery. There is a strength about it, a quiet dignity beneath the painted surface which carries shouldered burdens with far greater grace than the eye can trace. Yet, there it lives, perfectly conspicuous, in this next delicate bridal boudoir session captured by the lovely Melissa Blythe Photography! What an enduring exploration of pure loveliness and its far greater companion: confidence.

From Melissa Blythe Photography:

“Our bride-to-be approached me saying she had never taken boudoir pictures before and wanted something almost ethereal, soft and bright that would be ‘classy and appropriate’ without being too provocative.

She wanted the images both for herself and to share with her fiancé as a surprise, the intimacy between a young couple in love is fascinating to observe and she clearly has a deep bond with her partner as she was both extremely nervous and excited for the shoot.

It’s important to me, especially for boudoir, to make a connection with my subject. If we’re not comfortable with each other then I’m never going to get the best images possible, this was not a problem with her, we spent some time talking about the shoot beforehand and sharing some personal stories which helped us to know one another better.

She was a delight, easy to work with and a joy to shoot, although I wanted to show off her natural form and beauty I also wanted to highlight how strong she is as a person. We all have a story to tell and we all have memories less favorable than others. This shoot is about celebrating the strength and resilience of women, how we can be photographed in bright open light, with a person we barely know, wearing only intimate clothing; yet remain composed, resonating confidence and showing our true self to the world whilst saying, ‘this is who I am, unapologetic, gorgeous and proud.’

We should all be so lucky.”
