Such a sweet little elopement showing that all you really need are four things to get married: an officiant, two witnesses, and love. Wade & Breann got married just north of San Francisco and their little love story is the cutest thing ever!
from the photographer: “Documenting Wade and Breann’s elopement in Point Reyes was a day filled with heartfelt moments as these two said yes to a future as one.
Just a short drive north of San Francisco, lies a breath taking terrain filled with rolling green hills and jagged cliffs that meet the Pacific Ocean. Point Reyes is a place of peaceful serenity with a stillness that invites love to be celebrated in a natural and expansive fairytale like land.
After many postponements due to Covid, the New Yorkers decided to head out to Northern California’s magical coast for a romantic cliffside elopement. When I spoke with these two over the phone, I was almost breathless with excitement to return to the incredible Chimney Rock trail that would lead the lovebirds to their threshold of marriage.
We decided to visit a few quintessential spots before our final destination. Our first stop was to explore the abandoned shipwreck in Inverness California. Just a short drive from the town of Point Reyes, is a hidden little beach entrance behind a parking lot.
The 380-foot steamship had been wrecked over 100 years and showed its beautiful rustic colors, that paired so perfectly with the calm blue waters beneath the sandbar. The couple laughed, danced and enjoyed exploring the wetlands around the ship as the excitement of their elopement began to build.
We decided the next stop on our way to Chimney Rock was the Point Reyes tree tunnel where Monterey cypress trees grow in a curved tunnel on the Point Reyes Peninsula. Joining Breann and Wade were their beloved parents and a few relatives excited to witness the occasion. After a few family photos we all explored the area a bit then set off to our final destination for the ceremony.
Point Reyes is an absolute natural haven of love. The countryside is lavish in its picturesque scenery decorated with wild flowers galore. The animals that came out to greet us seemed spoiled in their surroundings. As we hiked the Chimney Rock trail the outstanding views were something out of a Lord of the Rings movie. Astonishing sculptural rocks stretched out over the coast as far as your eye could see. The brisk winds whipped at Breann’s dress adding movement to the images. Although it was a bit overcast the visibility and light were good adding a moody romantic vibe to the photos.
Breanne and Wade were married at the cliffs edge where they exchanged their vows and rings. After pronounced husband and wife the couple popped open a bottle of champagne and celebrated a toast of love. The narrative in these powerful images was complimented by the stunning backdrop bringing all of us to a happy place in an incredible northern California setting. I am so grateful to have worked with this adorable couple and wish them both many more adventures in their future together.”
