Tyler & Josh’s Hidden Acres wedding day is so beautiful tucked away in the mountains surrounded by nature & serene views. Unique designs were brought in such as a beautiful white cake with the outline of mountains in icing with live greenery to finish the look as well as a destination themed seating chart, such fun details in this charming wedding celebration!
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
We met at work and my first impression of Josh was that he was a sweet, funny guy with an infectious smile. Josh’s impression was that I was a funny and stunning. He even though to himself that I was way out of his league.
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! The day before the wedding, at our rehearsal lunch, a family member had realized they had forgotten their wedding attire! She was so focused on making sure she brought her bathing suit, they completely forgotten her clothes. They were still hanging in the room! What we didn’t know was this was about to be a trend!
Now Fast forward to when Josh and I were unloading everything into our hotel room. Josh looks around and asks me if his suit was in the closet already. It wasn’t….
In my laughter and disbelief, I told him to call his best man/brother to see if maybe he had the suit. He obviously said no and started to laugh at Josh. During that conversation the best man’s wife then realizes that the best man doesn’t have his either! In disbelief he did a quick play by play of unloading the truck and sure enough, its still at home!
By the grace of God, a very dear and kind friend hadn’t left San Diego yet and was able to pick up both suites on their way out of town. Our wedding venue was two hours away! She literally saved the day!
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?
There were a few parts that we really enjoyed while planning our wedding. I really enjoyed the design and artistic aspect of coming up with the invitations and color theme for the wedding. I spent a lot of time with one of my closest friends & future sister in love. We bounded even more and it was a fun creative outlet different for every day life.
Josh really enjoyed working with the Ketubah artist to create our Jewish marriage license. We had the artist create a custom water color painting of our favorite eastern sierra lake, called Convict Lake. This is where we took our first photos as an engaged couple right after Josh had proposed on a camping trip.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
Enjoy the wedding planning process, however big or small your wedding. This should be a fun time in your relationship so make memories, have a good time, and incorporate the things that represent you as a couple.
Oh and of course you make sure to capture the moments on the day of your wedding the best you can! Get video and photography if your budget allows! Your wedding day will be over in a blink of an eye!
