Toni & Dillon’s Eastons beach engagement is so romantic with the beach to themselves & soft lighting, this session was captured beautifully on film. Enjoying each other’s company while snuggling in close gives such a lighthearted & sweet feel to the photos that you can vividly see!
We almost rescheduled our session because it started to rain. I’m so glad we didn’t because once we got onto the beach, there was the most gorgeous light that kept coming in and out. All the beachgoers had packed up due to the impending storm that was about to roll in, so Toni and Dillon were able to have the entire beach to themselves. I am so happy I was able to capture these images on film because the tones and light captured on film are absolutely breathtaking. Toni and Dillon cuddled in close and the light just hit them so beautifully as they twirled across the empty beach. – Lindsay Connors Photography
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? I think planning how our loved ones can be apart of the wedding, so that everyone has a little piece of the celebration.
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? Always have open communication. It’s not always going to be butterflies and rainbows, your relationship gets tested when things get hard. We have always had a really good understanding of one another and we ferociously go to bat for each other. We are a team. (Of course, Dillon definitely could use some work on helping me pick flowers, but thats a story for another day! Ha).
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? We met at a super bowl party, for Toni it was love at first sight, seeing Dillon in a grey beanie playing pool with his buddies, he looked like Toni’s favorite actor Ashton Kutcher. We did not start dating until the next super bowl party, where Dillon mustered up the courage to ask for Toni’s number. The rest is history!
Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! Dillon proposed to me where my grandfather proposed to my grandmother in Havana, Cuba. He found these beautiful stairs in an old church and figured that would be the best place to propose. Well, Dillon is over 6 ft and has extremely long legs! He ended up getting on two knees instead of one to propose. We all laughed as friends shouted from the distance that he should get on one knee and step up to the stair above him to make it happen for the picture!
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning. I think our main hurdle was COVID-19. We originally planned our wedding for 2020 and tried to make that happen for us. However, the health and safety of our loved ones meant the most to us, so we had to make the hard decision to postpone. We’ve been engaged for two years now!
Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day? Cuba is so close to our hearts because that is where my grandparents (who we both love very much) got engaged and then we did years later! We want to incorporate a cigar bar and mojitos as our signature drink! Also, we will have a special seat for loved ones who have passed (our grandfathers), knowing that they are there with us in spirit.
What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? The ceremony. I think for us its all about sharing our love and commitment to one another with our of our loved ones and with God. Also, little moments like first dances and speeches will be really important to us.
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another? The best thing we have learned from one another is that our love sometimes looks like picking each other up, even in the worst times. We always have each others back and will continue to throughout our life together. Our wedding song is “Stand By Me” by Florence and The Machine.
What is your favorite thing about each other? My favorite thing about Dillon is how pure his heart is. He is the most genuine person I have ever met. Hes genuinely good all the way down to the bone. I love him for that.
My favorite thing about Toni is she has so much love to give and it shows in all the relationships she builds. Toni has built an amazing community around her yoga business and that wouldnt be possible without her warm heart, She inspires me with her drive and passion for everything she does and puts her mind to as she spreads love everywhere she goes.
What is the most honest thing you can say about love? I would have to refer to Corinthians 13
Love is Patient
Love is Kind
It does not envy
It does not boast
It is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking
It is not easily angered
It keeps no record of wrongs, love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
Love never fails
