“Danielle and Cody’s session was very romantic and intimate. These images reflect their love and more importantly their style. Danielle, being a photographer herself, is in love with film, and wanted an engagement session that is as dreamy and romantic as film itself. The hues in Danielle’s dress, accented by the fall, rustic location, helped create these elegant and timeless images.”
Love notes from the couple, Danielle & Cody:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Danielle: “Cody and I first met at the salon where I work. I had been wanting a tattoo for months but couldn’t find a good representation of what I was looking for. Cody came in one evening to get his hair cut by a coworker and she introduced me to him saying he was a very talented artist and could maybe help draw up what I was looking for. I didn’t mind the idea considering I noticed how handsome he was as soon as he walked in the door, and to my surprise he had felt the same telling me later on ‘he just had to get to know that beautiful girl across the room.’ Needless to say we couldn’t keep our eyes off one another.”
What is your favorite thing about each other?
Danielle: “My favorite thing about Cody is the way that he loves me. If I am ever in need of anything he is right there with it before I even have the chance to ask (except for when it comes to doing the dishes) any way I had ever dreamt of being treated in a relationship, Cody has surpassed that in every way.”
Cody: “It’s hard for me to narrow it down to only one thing, but I think my favorite thing about Danielle is her personality. She loves like I have never seen before and treats me better than I could have ever imagined. I am not sure how I got so lucky, but I wouldn’t change a single thing about her.”
Any special ways you are incorporating your family into your wedding day?
Danielle: “We chose to do our wedding in Northern Michigan for many reasons, one of which is because it is a place I, Danielle, have been vacationing with my family ever since I was a little girl. My parents owned a boat we would take out on Lake Michigan every weekend and I have so many special memories up there! This is also where Cody asked me to be his girlfriend; he took me all the way up to the very northern tip of the Leelanau Peninsula and asked me down by the water in the rain. I have to say he is pretty good at romance!”
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
“I think we can both agree that the best thing we have learned from one another is how selfless true love can make you. How it feels to give without hesitation, and love with no boundaries. Each day comes with its own trials, but the greatest gift god has given us is a partner by our side through all the ups and downs.”
If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?
“Be present. Life has a way of getting crazy and the days just fly by. Before you know it this special time in your life will become just a memory. Wedding planning can start to feel like a stressor and just another thing added to your checklist of things to do, but this is a time to celebrate your love. At the end of the day what matters most is that you and the one you love are starting your life together, so soak in every last bit of that.”
