A soft & artistic maternity session that captures the beauty of a mother during pregnancy celebrating new life. These memories were preserved in the most graceful & poetic way, inspiration came from the aesthetic of Cristina’s own wedding planning brand. East Made Co. suggested the use of Christina’s veil, adding in yet another special touch. These portraits already held so much meaning but with those personal touches they will now hold even more value.

From the Photographer – “I photographed this entire session on film at Cristina’s home in Potomac, MD the week of August 3rd and last week, she welcomed her baby boy Henry Hayes. For the photoshoot we were both inspired by the aesthetic of her wedding planning brand, Cristina Calvert Signature, as well as the baby’s gender. Blue is coincidentally also one of Cristina’s main branding colors in her wedding planning. She is inspired by chinoiserie prints hanging in her home office and owns an impressive collection of ginger jars sourced from a trip to Hong Kong.
Photographing Cristina and her long red hair made me think of a Renaissance painting. I also incorporated her 7-year old Monique Lhuillier wedding veil into the portraits to soften the look of the film and add meaning to our session. The resulting portraits evoke the excitement of the unknown & the anticipation of becoming a mother for the first time.”
