Romantic Catalina View Gardens Wedding

Today we are sharing a romantic Catalina View Gardens wedding that had a view of the ocean & amazing vineyards which is such a beautiful combination! Paired with a natural color palette & touches of soft pinks this summer wedding is nothing short of breathtaking. Holding the reception outdoors in the evening open air the couple was able to celebrate together with family & friends!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding. “We are both from the South Bay so we wanted our wedding to be close to where we grew up. We ultimately decided on Catalina View Gardens in Palos Verdes because it offered the whole package for us. With views of the ocean and the property’s vineyards, it was the perfect spot. We went with natural colors light pinks and whites for our outdoor, summer wedding. My husband’s cousin painted a beautiful monogram that incorporated kumquats, which we also included throughout the wedding. It added the perfect personal touch. We are so lucky to have the weather we do in Los Angeles and it ended up being the perfect night with the perfect backdrop.”

How did you meet? “We actually grew up in the same hometown. We started dating in high school…I know so unusual these days! We went to prom together and you could say the rest is history.”

What is your proposal story? “The Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego holds a special place in my family’s heart. We grew up vacationing there since it was a quick drive away from Los Angeles. My husband decided that would be a perfect spot. We went down to visit a couple weeks before Christmas. He completely surprised me with a beach proposal and as we walked back to the hotel our families and close friends were all there to surprise us. It was the perfect proposal with all of our loved ones there to celebrate with us.”

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip? “The location was so important to us. The property we got married at represented both of our hometowns. We chose to splurge on our incredible photographer, Valorie Darling, because it was important for us to have a photographer who made us feel comfortable and captured memories of our special day, which will last a lifetime.”

What were your favorite parts of the day? “The speeches at our wedding were definitely a favorite! From the father of the bride and maid of honor speeches to the best men (both of the groom’s brothers) speeches. They were so special, personal and uniquely there own. They were truly a reminder of how lucky we are to be surrounded by such amazing friends and family.

Of course, dancing the night away and In-N-Out burgers to end the night were favorites as well!”
