Rebecca & Alex’s Charlotte Engagement S...

Rebecca & Alex’s Charlotte Engagement Session

Rebecca & Alex’s Charlotte engagement session is the perfect blend of romance and fun! Within the images below, you can see the love and pure joy these two have towards each which was documented so beautifully. Captivating moments and movement paired with multiple looks brought in variety and charm! Rebecca originally reached out because we share the same last name – same spelling and everything! I’m so glad she did reach out because we’re such a great fit! Rebecca & Alex wanted to keep the city of Charlotte as the forefront of their engagement session.
We started the session at Marshall Park with their two dogs and then headed to a municipal building after a quick outfit change. We chatted and laughed while taking some of my favorite engagement photos to date. I can’t wait for their wedding this September! -Amanda Somerville Photography

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Alex and I met through mutual friends over ten years ago. At the time, we were both in relationships and never thought anything about a relationship between the two of us. Over the next several years we ended up hanging out in group settings several times and got along very well. Conversation was easy and I loved Alex’s sense of humor. Fast forward many years and we were both single and got dogs around the same time. I messaged him on Instagram to tell him his puppy was cute. We chatted back and forth for a while and he said we should “get the dogs together”. From the very first date, we both knew we had something special and the rest us history!

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? We are most looking forward to having all of our friends and family together in the same place at the same time. Everyone has been so supportive of our relationship from day one and we can’t wait to celebrate with them! We want to throw a big party and for everyone to have a blast. We also know the wedding day itself will fly by, so we’re so excited for our honeymoon to spend time alone together and to reminisce about the big day.

What is your favorite thing about each other? My favorite thing about Alex is his welcoming and warm personality. He can instantly make people around him feel comfortable and can always make me feel better if I’m in a bad mood. He also has a great sense of humor and can cook! Alex’s favorite thing about me is that I am easy going and always go with the flow. He says I don’t let things easily bother me and am always trying to see the positives. He loves how I treat others and that I think of others before myself.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Wedding planning hasn’t been too bad at all! Alex has been very helpful with planning and it’s been fun working as a team to get things done. It’s helped us communicate better and we’re learning more about each other throughout this whole process. We’ve loved getting advice from friends about their favorite parts of their own weddings.
