Today we are sharing charming inspiration drawn from none other than the famous Jane Austen novel, Pride & Prejudice. This editorial was captured just as lovely as the novel itself was written, with both beauty & grace. The soft color palette consisted of creams, white, beige, gold & pinks/lavender, truly inspiration for anyone who loves soft & neutral colors!
The inspiration for this shoot planned and designed by Teal Dempsey of Wild Emerald Bridal and captured beautifully by The Fourniers was to envelop the essence of the Regency Era in a modern way with romantic and unique elements incorporated. One can not think of the Regency Era without thinking about one of the most accomplished female writers in history, Jane Austen. Her novels were filled with elegance, honesty, wit, natural beauty and love. These are the ingredients needed for every bride’s dream wedding.
While trying to embody the ambience of the English countryside, the old world brick and spacious courtyards at Castle Farms was an immediate choice. It created the perfect backdrop to set the scene of our timeless wedding with a touch of drama. When designing the shoot, the team focused on a soft and organic color palette filled with lavender, creams, pinks and touches of gold accents, wood elements, greenery and earthy tones throughout the whole design.
It was important for every detail to be just so to truly enrapture the guests in the “Pride and Prejudice” look and feel of the wedding. We wanted guests to feel as if they had truly stepped into one of Jane Austen’s novels. We didn’t want just a typical wedding but an experience us and our guests would never forget.
True to outdoor family gatherings of the Regency Era we opted for a more informal dining experience using an elevated picnic style over the traditional large table dining setup. The simplicity of this allowed not only the venue to stand out but also the gorgeous florals Blue Sky Bouquet hand crafted, the masterpiece of a cake that Flour House Cakes created and the intentionally chosen wardrobe of the Bride and Groom. The “ladies maidens” turned heads as well in their floral and earthy toned bridesmaid dresses flaunting lace umbrellas. All of these details and more provided a “wow” moment for guests at every point throughout the day. The opportunity to step out of the normal hustle and bustle of life and step into this magical world we created for such a special event in our lives was a breath of fresh air. At the end of the day everyone left feeling not only so loved but “completely and perfectly and incandescently happy,” which as a human is all any of us desire. -The Fourniers
