My Darling: An English Courtyard Boudoir

My Darling: An English Courtyard Boudoir

What makes romance? Anyone who is married already knows that romance, like a good marriage, takes work. It’s not the storybook version of fairy tales and princesses that we have been raised on … it’s loving and committing to one another, doing the hard work to put someone else’s needs above yours. It’s having a servants heart, loving someone else even when they are unlovable.

But that doesn’t mean romance is all work and can’t have an air of intrigue, mystery, and fun. A handwritten note that begins ‘My Darling’ is bound to excite the recipient at the other end of the letter – to heighten their senses and make them want to read on farther to see what words of love their partner has gifted to them this time. Because words have that power to excite, invoke passion, and spark love. So today, remember the power of words with the one you love.

from the photographer, Feather & Fawn“This fine art boudoir shoot was the first day of the 3-day workshop with Nicole Colwell Photography at Bealeton, Virginia. The workshop itself aims to inspire and help photographers to see and shoot with a more refined perspective. Set in an English style courtyard, the inspiration was based on a bride-to-be before the wedding day, patiently and excitingly waiting for her groom’s love letter. This shoot is filled with intricate and carefully curated details, to showcase a tasteful bridal boudoir shoot.”
