Today we are sharing these beautiful Joshua Tree wedding portraits! With the intriguing desert landscape as their backdrop, Carmen and John explored Joshua Tree National Park in their wedding attire to create this beautiful outcome!

This is a bridal shoot in Joshua Tree National Park. The couple, Carmen and John, were married in Arkansas, but wanted to have their bridal portraits taken in Joshua Tree! It was incredible! -The Grotheers

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? We met at a little Caesar’s! He had been recently hired and I had just put in my two weeks notice since I was moving away for college. John was a skater boy and I was very much into him. His first impression of me was “she’s cute” and then he asked his friend (who also worked there) how old I was. We quickly hit it off! I long boarded and he skate boarded and that’s how we grew close together.

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! Right after we eloped we stopped by a McDonald’s for some McDoubles and fries. We were starving and had a 2 hr drive till we got home to our dinner. The workers were very confused!

What is the most honest thing you can say about love? Love is not a feeling. It’s a choice and action you have to make daily. Everyday we choose to be a team and love and serve one another, even when it’s hard.

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning. We got married at the peak of COVID. Our wedding that was supposed to have 100 plus guests turned into 10 guests. We had to cancel several things and adjusts dates 4 times because each date kept getting canceled due to restrictions. We still wouldn’t have had it any other way though.

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Creating! Even though things weren’t as I had originally planned, I was able to still create beautiful decor pieces for our wedding day.

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? Embrace the hurdles! Marriage is hard. If you can face hurdles with a positive mindset and work as a team you will get through it.
