Jenna & Zak’s Picture Perfect Day

Jenna & Zak’s Picture Perfect Day

Welcome to the magical celebration of Jenna and Zak’s picture perfect day! Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the couple embarked on a journey of love and togetherness. With a desire for an intimate and heartfelt event, they curated every detail to create a memorable evening reminiscent of an intimate dinner party, enhanced by whimsical blooms and breathtaking shades of blue.

Jenna and Zak had an intimate spring wedding celebration with 50 of their closest family and friends. For the wedding dinner, they wanted it to feel like an intimate dinner party and shared meal with their favorite people. With hues of blue and organic, whimsical blooms, each detail was perfectly added to create an ethereal feel. -Jaime Rose Photography How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? We actually met on hinge at the very beginning of covid! Jenna was living and working in Philadelphia, and came home to Michigan to work from home during covid. We realized we had a ton of mutual friends right away but had never crossed paths, and hit it off when we first met. Jenna’s first impression of Zak was that he is social, outgoing, easy to talk to, and a smooth talker- which she loved. Zak’s first impression of Jenna was- ” I was absolutely stunned, and I knew I had to figure out a way to make her my wife” Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship! Zak has to give partial credit to his buddies for being with Jenna, she claims that she only went out with him initially because he had pictures on his Hinge profile that she knew from Hope College. Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning. Jenna’s dad was dealing with some health issues and had an injury & emergency surgery 3 weeks before our wedding. We weren’t sure if he was going to make it to walk her down the aisle or do the father-daughter dance. Jenna’s dad Mike was able to do both the day of and it was a really special moment for the whole family. What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another? Jenna- patience, Zak is so patient with me and with everyone in his life, I am always trying to match his patience with others.
Zak- How to care for & show up for someone that you love.

What is your favorite thing about each other? Jenna- my favorite thing about Zak is his positivity and outlook. Zak always expects the best in people, and he is always finding the silver lining in every situation.
Zak- Jenna is extremely determined and a natural born leader. She is reliable, caring, self-aware, kind, and beautiful. What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? The reception dinner. The whole wedding was planned around the dinner table. Jenna has always loved to host and bring people together over a meal, and we wanted to share this meal at one long table with all of our closest family and friends. We had one long dinner table, 65 people long, outside on a covered porch at the country club (Egypt Valley) that Jenna grew up at and where Zak and Jenna spent a lot of time at early on when we started dating.
The sun came in and hit the porch perfectly during the dinner, and it was so special to be able to look down the table (bride and groom sat at the end) and see all of our favorite people sharing this moment with us. What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? Jenna- Meeting with our pastor leading up to our wedding. It is so easy to get caught up in the details of wedding planning, and our pastor continued to remind us the reason for the wedding and the true celebration of the day and event. Also our vendors were all amazing and so easily to work with.
Zak- Working with our cigar roller! We had a cigar roller come and make customer cigars for our guests as part of the wedding favor! If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be? Remember you are on the same team. If you approach conflicts or obstacles with this mindset, it’s easier to see the conflict as the issue and not each other as an issue & to come to a solution together.
Also- marry your best friend! We are each other’s favorite person & best friend, and it makes everything so fun.
