Jada & Chris explored the beautiful city of Charleston for their engagement session on a perfect and sunny Spring day. With two outfits the couple was able to show off an elevated as well as a fun side for their images, creating timeless photos that they will cherish for a lifetime!
What’s your proposal story? Chris and I traveled to Italy in October 2022. I had never been to Europe, and he’d never been to Italy, so we were beyond excited for our big trip. We arrived our first night in Florence and met with friends, exploring, eating, and drinking our way through the city. The morning of our first full day, we got up and had the most amazing breakfast at our beautiful hotel overlooking the water and Ponte Vecchio. We then briefly went back to the room before heading out, where I swear I blinked and suddenly Chris was on one knee! I couldn’t stop crying, and I’ve never seen him smile so big in my life :). I said yes, we facetimed my mom and sister back in the US, (it was 4am for them), then we spent the rest of the day with our friends seeing historic Florence sights and pinching ourselves to make sure this was real life! We enjoyed the rest of our week in Italy traveling to Cinque Terre, Lake Como, and Milan. It was the most magical trip! From the couple: We were hoping for a beautiful Spring day with colorful backdrops, and downtown Charleston did not disappoint! The mixtures of the clean lines from historic architecture and budding greenery and flowers really make us look and feel like models haha. We were hoping for some classic, timeless photos that also showed the fun side of our relationship. Kailee and Tim surpassed our greatest hopes for capturing these sweet moments! We wanted two looks- first a more formal outfit which was Chris’s blue suit and my blue and white floral dress. The dress felt more “bridal” without being totally in white. Our second outfit change was more casual with Chris’s button up and khaki pants (RIP to the belt and brown shoes he forgot) and my flowy brighter skirt. Little did we know that this fun skirt would make for some of our favorite photos!
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Chris and I were introduced by one of our closest friends, Kat. Kat and I have been friends since high school, and she and Chris became friends while in undergrad at Auburn. Kat had been playing matchmaker and talking each of us up to the other one. When Kat was visiting me in Charlotte one weekend, Chris and a group of his friends met us for dinner. Chris asked me on our first date that night! I thought Chris was so handsome and confident. He is an excellent story teller and had the dinner table following his every word. Chris says he thought I was caring and compassionate and always put others first. The rest is history! What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you? We are so excited about having all of our closest friends and family with us to celebrate such a special day in our lives. We feel so fortunate to have such a great support system, so we are really looking forward to having our big day surrounded by them all. We have chosen a venue that allows space for more intimate conversation as well as a large area with a big dance floor! We are hoping that the band brings everyone to dance and celebrate together. What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another? Chris is very good about taking a step back from whatever is going on and truly enjoying it. He appreciates quality time together and is very good about slowing down in the very fast-paced world that we live in. I am your classic type-A, constantly moving girl, and he grounds me. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day schedules, but together we’ve worked to really hone in on our time together, making every moment count. What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? We have enjoyed imagining each piece of the wedding and trying to make it our own. From small details of the welcome party to choosing our first dance song, it’s been really fun to take each part of the weekend and put our own spin on it. We are lucky to have a really great planner to help with the fine details, but we hope that all of our guests enjoy themselves and feel that it was a weekend that was truly “us.” What is the most honest thing you can say about love? Our love has really been built on teamwork and respect. We started as a long-distance relationship and both have demanding careers, and over the years we’ve been able to merge our separate lives into one. We’ve both had to make compromises in order to put the other person first, but at the end of the day, everything we do, we do together. We constantly strive to put the other first, and this support has been our foundation. Photographer: Kailee DiMeglio Photography
