Heartfelt Vow Renewal

Today we are sharing such a moving & heartfelt vow renewal of a couple that made a connection from their first meeting! Heather & Jason have a very unique story that I found captivating, noting below how the most important part of the day was during their ceremony when they made their sacred promises to each other. On a day that is as significant as your wedding, these two certainly displayed the meaning of anchoring yourself together & designing the day to be something that you truly love.

Be sure to read all the amazing words from the couple below!

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?

“In 2013 Heather stumbled across a YouTube Video of Jason wearing a Lion beanie on his head sharing a prayer and inspirational message encouraging everyone to BE THE LIGHT in the world, and she saw a glimmer in his eye that she recognized. They set up a time to connect over Skype one day to meet and greet, they shared their passions and dreams, prayed together for the first time and that is when they knew this relationship was something special. Heather was living in Northern California and Jason in Southern California. Heather had a trip planned to Disneyland with a dear friend and let Jason know she was coming down to Los Angeles and would love to see him, and when she did see him…she wanted to KISS HIM. Jason was overjoyed and BLOWN AWAY to hear this and set up a romantic lunch by the Oceans of Malibu under a tree and they had their first kiss under that tree. They walked hand in hand from that spot, knowing they had begun a life long journey. Jason called Heather on her way back to Northern California and said: “Heather Powers, YOU ARE TATTOOED ON MY SOUL”

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

“We had two weddings. One in South America, on a mountain top in Peru…BAREFOOT. 3 months later, we had another wedding ceremony in North America at the Base of a 300 year old OAK TREE…BAREFOOT. We are known as the “BAREFOOT SINGERS”. Lol. We hardly wear shoes and love to get our feet on the earth and BE GROUNDED everywhere we go. Yep, kind of hippy like. Lol.”

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

“One of our early hurdles in our relationship was the distance. We spent our first 6 months apart and would fly to one another every so often and spend lots of time on SKYPE. And then Heather made the courageous leap to pack all her things and move to be with Jason. Jason wasn’t in a living situation that allowed her to move in with him immediately. So by prayers and miracles, a home and a job opened up by friends of Jason’s for Heather to begin her life and they have been living in the GRACE of God’s love since they said YES to their love with one another.”

Any special ways you incorporated your family or family history into your wedding day?

“Jason’s mother was not a part of his first wedding to his previous wife and that was a sore subject, so this wedding to Heather was going to be different. His mom walked him down the aisle and she couldn’t of been more proud! Jason’s 10 year old son Jett at the time was the ring bearer and a big part of the ceremony. Being that both of Heather’s parents have transitioned years before, our adopted God parents Russell & Penny Olsen walked Heather down the aisle.”

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

“The most important part of BOTH ceremonies are the moments of our sacred promises with one another. With our feet anchored on the earth, gazing into one another eyes before many witnesses, realizing the GIFT of this LOVE.”

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

“Jason has been transformed by the GRACE that emanates from Heather. She is his GOLDEN ANGEL as he loves to call her. She models such love & compassion for many and he has learned to be softer and gentler to those in his life. Heather has learned from Jason, her “Mighty Oak” to courageously share herself authentically, particularly the deeper emotions that can often be uncomfortable, and to allow greater love to to be felt and expressed each new day!”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

“Jason’s favorite thing about Heather is her VOICE. She is a Singer/Songwriter and her poetic songs sing to the soul and open hearts wide, truly SOUL MUSIC. Heather’s FAVORITE thing about Jason is his heart to love and support people through their process of transformation and the way he gently leads people towards powerful breakthroughs in their lives!”

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

“Our favorite part of the planning of our wedding was the low stress. It was Heathers 3rd Marriage and Jason’s 2nd. Jason has spent 30 years in the wedding business as a DJ and MC and both were not needing a huge production. They created a day that was intimate, ceremonial and sacred for them and they loved every moment.”

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

“Remember, this DAY is for YOU TWO. This Day is to Celebrate YOUR LOVE with one another. You may be tempted to please family members and their requests of you…but this day will anchor your love with one another for the rest of your lives together. Make sure YOU feel great about all that will occur in this day!!”

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?

“That is the BEST QUESTION for us. We have created a coaching Business for couples and singles who are wanting to create a healthy loving relationship called “The Powers of Love”. The most HONEST thing we can say about Love is this: IT’S THE MOST POWERFUL FORCE IN THE UNIVERSE. When we allow Greater and Greater LOVE IN our Hearts and Greater AND Greater LOVE OUT of our Hearts…we are a LIGHT in the world. We truly believe: WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE…PURE LOVE.”
