Greenhouse Wedding In The Open Air

Today we are featuring a whimsical open air greenhouse wedding, which is the perfect setup during this time. Located in North Georgia, Allison and Parker’s wedding was inspired by lemons and sage, with a huge emphasis on family, friends, and fun! From the girls starting the day with confetti in leopard robes, to dancing their way through the sendoff amidst sparklers and cheers this day distributes pure joy!

Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship or during your wedding planning.

“The biggest hurdle that Parker and I had to overcome for our wedding was COVID-19. We originally had a wedding planned for April 4 of 2020, and had to move it to July 4 of 2020. We moved this only two weeks before our original date. This was obviously very devastating to us because we had to move all of our vendors and tell all of our guests what was going on. Because of this, a lot of family was unable to come to the wedding. However, we still eloped in March and had a beautiful wedding in July. It was definitely a struggle but I think having that intimate elopement made it worth it for us.”

Tell us a funny story relating to your wedding day or relationship!

“Three days before my wedding, my hair stylist called me telling me she could not do my hair at the wedding because she had COVID. At the time this was not funny, because I had a short time to find a new hairdresser. However now we look back at it and laugh because we realize how small and unimportant that detail was to our day.”

How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another? Parker and I first met in high school when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. We had a small crush on each other but nothing came of it. In college Four years later a mutual friend set us up on a date. We went to sonic after one of my basketball games and got milkshakes. We realized we had tons in common like our love for Country music, dogs, and the outdoors.”

What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?

“Parker and I have learned that life does not always go as a plan it. We had planned a beautiful wedding in April, and had to postpone it because of COVID. We also both planned to both live in Chattanooga while we work and go to school. However COVID has made us long-distance for the time being. This is very difficult for us because it is not what we mapped out for our first year of marriage. However, we are rolling with the punches and enjoying the moments that we have together.”

What is your favorite thing about each other?

“My favorite thing about Parker has to be his drive and passion for success in all aspects of his life. Parker is very adventurous and can take on any challenge that life throws him. He is truly an inspiration to me.

Parker’s favorite thing about me is my fun and energetic attitude. He also loves my intelligence and passion for helping others as an occupational therapy student.”

What was your favorite part about planning your wedding?

“For me, my favorite part about planning the wedding was picking out fun gifts for my bridesmaids, and family. They were able to help me so much with all of the wedding process that I loved getting them something special. For Parker, the best part of the wedding planning process was the cake tasting (of course haha).”

If you had one piece of advice for other couples, what would it be?

“The greatest advice I could give to a couple planning a wedding is to remember the important things. You will not remember how your cake tasted, how many people showed up, or what songs were played. You will remember the special moments that you had with each other. Weddings do not always go as planned, for example we had to deal with COVID-19. However our day was still special because we were able to celebrate our love for each other.”

What is the most honest thing you can say about love?

“Parker and I have realized that love is a 50-50 partnership. We both need to be giving ourselves and constantly working towards a better friendship and connection. Parker and I work well together because we have a great emotional connection, we have similar hobbies and interests, and we just have a lot of fun when we’re together. I’m excited to spend the rest of my life with him because I know I’m gonna have a good time!”

What part of your wedding day was/is most important to you?

“For both Parker and I the most important part of our wedding was the reception. Because we had already had a small elopement ceremony, we were excited to celebrate with a party. We enjoyed being able to see our closest friends and some of our family there to celebrate our love. We both love to dance so that was very important to us and we had a super fun DJ that made the night a blast!”
