The chilly months have brought forth some of our favorite color palettes, and today’s feature is absolutely brimming with the elegance and delicate sophistication only rich wine tones can bring! With the exquisite graces of marble to pair, the beauty of Joe & Haley’s gorgeous nuptials was eclipsed only by the sweetness of their union. The lovely moments of life and love, so intentionally captured by photographer Sarah Ingram, are the true picture of a restful and blessed day!
A word from photographer, Sarah Ingram:
“Haley and Joe knew they wanted to marry surrounded by crisp air and rich colors, a nod to the season without having a wedding day with ‘cheesy’ fall decor. They selected deep wine envelopes with gold calligraphy to invite guests into that feeling, and beautiful dark furniture stood in to carry out the mission during their reception. The cake and escort tiles served as a nod to bride Haley’s favorite pattern—marble—names artfully penned atop the tiles in gold ink. Guests enjoyed dinner with warm candle light and tables set with fall foliage by Juli Vaughn Design.”
Love notes from Joe & Haley:
How did you two meet? What were your first impressions of one another?
Haley: “Joe is my brother’s best friend’s cousin… follow that? Haha. We’ve actually known each other for 10+ years but were never interested in each other because of a 5 year age difference and because we only saw each other once a year at an annual horseshoe tournament. In 2012, we attended a family friend’s wedding (not together). Both of our families also attended. Last minute, Joe’s uncle had to back out of attending the wedding. Next thing you know, Joe moved from his table to sit in his uncle’s seat… next to me. The rest is history!”
Describe a hurdle you had to overcome in your relationship.
Haley: “The first couple of years of our relationship were long distance. So many ups and downs with a break or two sprinkled in. During one of our breaks, he moved even further away to Charlotte, NC for work. We started writing letters to one another and then I finally made the decision to move to Charlotte to be with him.”
Any special ways you incorporated your family into your wedding day?
Haley: “During the reception, we surprised my parents with a special dance. They got married 28 years prior on October 8, 1988.”
What is the best thing you’ve learned from one another?
“We will keep this one simple… patience.”
